Hello, If anybody has any 127 film to spare, I'd be interested in buying. I just acquired a Yashica 44 and my 5 rolls of 127 Efke Pl 100 aren't going to last very long.

Shipping would be to Montreal, Qc, Canada, H4A 2R2.

Hi bkarasek, save paper backing & spools from existing films. Buy 70mm film on Ebay, as well as slitter 70mm-127 and make your own rolls. All you need is little bit of dark space and roll of masking tape. Let me know if you need links for the sellers. It worked for me. Way less expensive than $11 per roll of 127 Efke

Here's a quote from AG's web site in the UK.
"Made by Agfa Gevaert in Belgium, Rollei Colour reversal films CR200 and Crossbird are classic colour reversal (slide / transparency) films at a very competitive price. Coated onto a clear polyester base, films should be handled carefully and in subdued light when being loaded. Supplied in a handy plastic container - keep films in this container before use and before processing. Crossbird is aimied at photographers who want to cross-process in C41 colour negative process. The only 127 film available in colour."

Blue Moon Camera lists three 127 films including an infrared emulsion. It's not cheap, though.
 
I picked up a 127/16mm splitter and roll my own 127. I also save my 120 paper to use when my 127 paper wears out. not much to cutting 120 to 127 dimensions.

If I may ask, where did you get your 120/127 slitter?
 
In case anyone else is looking, I picked mine up on Fleabay a few years ago.

The item title is "Al Spoil film slitter -- cut any film down to any size".

I checked to see if there were any being auctioned but no luck.

You could try contacting him with his eBay user ID xkaes.

Do your cameras auto-wind, or how to do you know when to stop winding? Is there some method of making the framing numbers on 120 backing line up with 127 windows?

If you can find the yashica 44LM version, then you only need the 1 frame to line up, once you're at first frame, you reset a special counter and then don't need the backing paper numbers any more. The standard yashica 44 doesn't have this feature, just the LM version (stands for Light Meter because it came with a light meter built into the body).

I keep meaning to try the cigar cutter technique... Perhaps tomorrow is a good day to test that :smile:

Also ilford has a special ULF run and has started including roll film which included 46mm (127) in 50 foot rolls, it it ends up coming out to about $5 per roll, you just need to find the backing paper, however either Agfa or Rollei or ferannia posted here saying they were strongly considering offering 46mm rolls as well as rolls of backing paper for those wanting to roll their own. So it's possible soon no cutting will be involved.

Anyway ilfords ULF specialty run just happened so you'll have to wait till next year to get your HP5+ in 127 :smile:

A Sanford Sharpie with my distinctive slop handwriting to add new numbers to the paper. Just line em up with the numbers on a true 127 paper.

All my 127 cameras have red windows and it works good.

One day I think a Yashica 44 will be on my radar but not till I sell off some of the gear I already have. Then no worries as far a numbering go for that.

Have you tried using 35mm film cartridge in your Yashica? Just don't use your ruby window and guestamate when advancing the film. Unload your camera in a changing bag or film loading room.

I haven't tried it just yet with my Yashica44 LM, but I have seen results and it seems to work. This will not work on the Baby Rollei :sad:
 
On a side note. I have seen some 127 TMax rolls, at a Southern California camera show. The asking price was $19.99 Ouch!

Just wait 7 months for the next ilford ULF run, the 46mm film comes in 50ft rolls, the cost breaks down to about $5/roll which is great :smile:

Just save that backing paper (and if you're not going to re-roll, may I have it, I need more backing paper! Lol
