I need a 12" (or shorter?) black square-sectioned 1"x1" rail for my Cambo 5x7 view camera. Not sure if other manufacturers rails fit? Not willing to pay eBay prices.

Very likely the same rail used for their 4x5 models.

I'd also buy a lens board (Copal 0) if cheap.

Thanks,
Keith

Yea, I might do that. Thanks for the reminder. Could probably do it in wood as well. But would look nicer with the real thing.

Alternatively, go to Amazon and buy a piece of 1"x1" 80/20 brand t-slotted extrusion. Heavier than the square tubes home depot sells, inspires more confidence. I use a 4' piece of 80/20 for my Cambo in long configuration.

Thanks Dan! I didn't realize such things were available via Amazon.

Hi Ralph- well, the 12" 1"x1" 80/20 t-slotted extrusion piece that Dan mentioned costs $11 including shipping. Can you match that, or close? Shipping to 47150.

Thanks to Dan Fromm's suggestion I bought a 12" 1"x1" 80/20 t-slotted extrusion piece from Amazon for $11 (_including shipping _) that has arrived today.

I'm happy to report it works just fine as a rail for my Cambo. There is a slight difference in surface friction so that I sometimes need to help the standard along as I turn the adjustment knob, but no big deal, and it tightens down fine. Of course it doesn't have the spring actuated stops or plastic on the ends, again no big deal.

Actually it didn't cost me anything since I had Amazon points to use. Thanks again Dan!

glad the Amazon solution worked for you because ,I reconsidered and like to keep mine for the occasional close-up shot at that value
