Writing Photoshop actions for scanned colour negatives

Hello,

I've been looking into the CF systems 'ColorPerfect' software, although have not installed it yet. However, does anyone here have experience of writing Photoshop actions to correct for colour negatives as an alternative approach to the one taken by the 'ColorPerfect' plug-in? I'm running Photoshop CS3.

I'm not familiar with Color Perfect and only occasionally scan color negatives (b&w is my preferred medium) but I use Silverfast Studio scanning software that has extensive color correcting features. You may want to check it out.

much is said on this "mask" stuff but it all seems to vanish (as indeed it is designed to) when scanning. Try this method

I use Don Hutcheson's actions http://www.hutchcolor.com/Utilities.html. Not fancy, but guides you through all the manual steps I had worked out (plus a few more I wasn't smart enough to discover). The c-neg action gives me very good color negative scans.

I don't normally scan C41 and was having all sorts of trouble.
