I carry a Leatherman tool and have used it for emergency camera repairs. I also carry a length of small diameter nylon cord, which comes in handy for tying back the occasional errant tree branch and other useful tasks.

Could someone explain who or what Captain Morgan is,? in Britain it's a brand of Rum.

I was speaking of the rum.

I realize now that my post was phrased kinda weird. I may or may not have been drinking at the time I made that post :D

It is a brand of rum here as well. I believe Existing Light is stating that they have valued every bottle of rum they have purchased from Captain Morgan.

Exactly :D

1. Warm clothes.
2. A sturdy tripod.
3. Something hot to drink.

The penny I use to tighten up my tripod base plate
My garage's key when I found that the view camera still had the Bogen quick release plate and I was NOT using the Bogen tripod that day... Of course the light was beautiful, and having to get back home would have meant missing it... May be I should consider a Leatherman ?

A couple of large, heavy duty, black plastic sacks. They get used as a ground sheet, emergency cover for the camera when that cloudburst sneaks up behind you, and once as a darkcloth when I somehow forgot mine. A roll of sticky tape helps with that too.

A Breton fisherman's cap, which actually stays on my head when there are significant wind gusts. Also, the insulated picnic cooler that I put my equipment in when it is necessary to store it in the car trunk on hot days in the summer. Another good aspect of picnic coolers for carrying equipment is that they do not scream "steal me".

Ditto, except that I prefer pens, and use 1-1/2 masking tape I buy in 5-roll packs at Home Depot.

And my cell 'phone, to tell my wife why I'm going to be late...again!

Sounds like a good deal on the tape...but I don't go through all that much of it. I prefer pencils, as they never run dry, work in all sorts of weather, and can be erased. I prefer blue masking tape as it is less tacky than white masking tape. Green is about the same as blue as far as I can tell.
