I always like it when it falls on my birthday...makes it easy to remember to go out and shoot something! As it is I have a new pinhole camera to try this year, hopefully the weather cooperates.
So what's the deal with wppd? Everyone is supposed to take a photo that day, or post a photo that they've taken with their photo on wppd? Sorry for the basic question. This will be the first year I can participate.
Yes! At the site I linked in the OP there are tabs across the top, one titled How to Participate which pretty well covers it. That site also has a tab for Resources which has lots of info. The gallery tab can allow you to check out work submitted each year all the way back to 2001. (It's a trifle sobering to realize my own participation goes back to 2005.)So what's the deal with wppd? Wow! This interaction got me inspired, fabricated a new pinhole tonight. ...
Well it was just a new pinhole plate, the basic camera remains unchanged. You can learn more about it than you likely want to know in a corner of my PBase galleries! The brass shim stock was subjected to a dimple-and-sand exercise and blackened -- well, darkened -- with Blacken-It, a model railroad treatment. That page has links to some of the results in various years. so far I've pretty much settled on Fuji HR-T X-ray film -- at least until the 100 sheet package runs out!Sound interesting. I've seen high quality 8x10 pinhole photos before. Would like to see a photo of the camera when you get a chance.
Wow! Thanks -- but at my advanced age I'm not sure I can handle this pressure to perform!Mr Thomas has a beautiful camera with which he as graced us with some fine images over the years,
Expecting more of the same
You only need one.="NedL, post: 2067094, member: 59345"I doubt I'll have time to do more than make one picture!
All you have to do is keep the shutter open a little longer.April already. Shit, time flies...
I just hope it isn't raining on Pinhole Day... the tail end of April here is notorious for doing just that.
The idea is that everyone takes pinhole photos on the same day (in your time zone) all over the world. Pick your favorite and submit it to the gallery. You have until the end of. May to finish your image and submit it.You asked the question then answered it just-so! A pinhole photograph on World Pinhole Photography Day.
They allow you until the middle or end of May to get your single entry in (one entry only, no multiples), made only with a pinhole camera of whatever configuration it is, whether home-made (the diversity and oft-noted simplicity is vast), commercially-made or a pinhole cap on a digital camera (as odd as it sounds, plenty of folk actually do that...).
All you have to do is keep the shutter open a little longer.
Thanks Nick, nice to see you here! You only need one.
...it could be open for a while. I am anticipating a rainforest shoot. With fog. And without rain.
