If I look at this year’s World Press Photo Contest (Dead Link Removed), I must say that:

· This year, I am not convinced of the jury’s decision. The overall winner is far less compelling than previous WPPH. IMO, It lacks a certain “posteresqueness”. Please, don't misunderstand me. I don’t think this is necessary for a good picture, but I think the WPPH should have a message as clear a good advertising. The general composition doesn’t convince me either.

· I cannot accept a picture like 3rd price in category “spot news – singles”. IMO, the photographer was not able to preserve Human Dignity in this case. For me, this should be essential for a picture to receive such an award.

· My personal favorite is the 3rd price in category “general news – stories”. Although it is not very posteresque, too, I find it nevertheless a compelling picture.
