I shot a roll myself today too, but in 35mm. Shoot Pan X at 32ISO and be done with it. It doesn't need more exposure, no matter what the age. I just developed my roll in HC-110 and its looks great, if only slightly dense (over dev for 30 extra seconds).

Was this an Ebay purchase? Ebay prices for this film have been extremely high as of late.

If Kodak brought this stuff back, I'd buy it.
So would I. I keep bugging Kodak Alaris every once in a while with an email asking them to make this film again. But Kodak hasn't introduced anything new for the past couple years other then Ektachrome and TMAX 3200, so Im not really hopeful either. They haven't even brought Plus X back either.

I was pestering them to bring back HIE... but I've given up on it. Pretty much given up on Kodak. Film for the rich.

Considering there still seems to be plenty of Panatomic X being sold on Ebay today (since the film never sold well when it was out, and was discontinued in 1989), Im guessing the people that really still want it, will be able to buy some of it. For a price.

I love the look of Panatomic X. It was one of my two favorite B&W films when I was shooting alot back in the 1970s.The other was Tri-X. In my experience Panatomic X is virtually unexpirable. Several years ago I shot a few rolls that were found in my Aunts attic marked 1962. They were probably there in the attic for most of that time. Shot them at box speed and it was fine. I am no expert like a lot of folks here but my eyes could see the difference next to newer/modern Panatomic X stored properly. I had another experience where a friend bought a property with an abandoned farmhouse on it, had been vacant for 15 or so years. He called me when he found a complete darkroom in the place. It was a total shambles, everything was moldy, stacks of Agfa print paper wet and moldy. The enlarger stuff growing on it so sad . There were two exposed rolls of Verichrome Pan that were in their little plastic containers that were OK. I processed them and they were fine.

The one gem to be found was a still sealed bulk roll of Panatomic X dated 1972. I put it in a loader and spooled up a couple 12 exp rolls, shot and processed them . . they were fine. Gave the loader and the Pan x in it to a friend who shoots a lot more 35mm than I did at the time.

Here are seven shots I scanned today on a 35mm roll of Pan X. Not 120, but still looks good. Keep note the last shot was fuzzy from slow exposure (my mistake).
