Good evening. I've spent most of my life focusing on the groundglass with a very simple linen (thread counter) approximately 10X, and it works wonderfully, except that it's a tiny object and it's uncomfortable to fit (it, as well as my head) inside the leather flaps of the finder of my Linhof. So I decided to give a try to the Gaoersi duct-type loupe, which is a tube a dozen centimeters high. When I received it I thought I had struck gold, it was so easy to handle, but very quickly I came to realize that it's dark, doesn't magnify as the linen does, but most of all it can't focus through the fresnel lens as its focus is "adjustable" only in the wrong direction. I am so frustrated, I wonder how is it possible than a few bucks linen can be so much better!

I have read good things about the Wista duct-type loupe, which again I believe should be high 12-15 cm approximately. Does it have a *wide* and by *wide* I mean *wide* focusing ability, even through the extra thickness of the fresnel lens, and for both near and far sighted people?

Other alternatives? Please bear in mind that I'm looking for a tall, duct-type loupe, in the 8X or better 10X range. Please avoid suggesting flat stuff as big and heavy as a prime 50mm lens, thank you!

These I think is at least the length you're looking for

I will say though that clearing hood off ground glass will allow to use a lot of great loupes under dark cloth.

Does the Linhof finder not rotate out or pop off so you can access the ground glass directly?
