For Sale Wista 4x5 with lens and more!

I'm helping a friend sale his kit. I can tell you the camera is a really nice one since it was in my closet for many years! He got hitched and now he move out his toys.
For sale.
A Wista 4 x 5 with a 135mm Nikkor lens, six film holders, black/red darkcloth, Spare lens board, and a Rodenstock loupe.
The camera is super clean! Camera Bellow is in fine shape. No cracks, tears or light leaks. Brass fittings are clean. The lens is clean. No fungus or scratches. The shutter fires correctly. The dark cloth and loupe are in excellent shape. Film holders are in good shape.
$600 gets it all. All you need is a tripod, time and film to take this baby out for some fun!

It's not too hard to get a good deal on a wife, but it's damn difficult to get this good a deal on a 4x5 outfit. Happily for me ( I married the right woman ) if I didn't already have a similar kit, she'd help write the check.

I was just informed that the camera was sold a week ago. Now, he's sorry for letting it go.
But to keep you all interested I have another friend who is planning to sell her mint condition Wisner 4x5 Expedition camera soon.
Seems like many of my so-call friends are dumping their gear for digital. The friend above just bought a Nikon D3 and fisheye lens.
Once I know for sure and her asking price I'll let you know.
I can say that this camera was probably used maybe three times before the owner had surgery and needed to lighten her carrying load.
Sorry that I didn't know sooner about the Wista but I also just found out myself.

Robert, seems to me that if your friend with the Wista had just married the gal with the Wisner, both cameras would still be in stable, loving homes. She wouldn't want to lose the 4x5 and he could have carried all the load. I think you probably could have done more to facilitate this. It's all your fault.

Totally two different folks selling their cameras. I'm the common connection, yes. I have another friend who wants to get into 8x10 and I think I'll let him borrow mine for awhile and see what he is getting into. Its an education for some of these people what large format entails compared to say a digital.
They see what I and some other photographers can do and say, "I can do that!" They buy the gear then see they can't. I've done this myself with fixing a car or two on my own. I say "I can rebuild that engine and make it better! And cheaper too!" Then have it towed away to my local garage.
Its all human nature.
