Im committed to something else that day, but that date - go ahead.

It is time to pick a date and make something happen. With this big a crowd, not everyone will be able to make it.

I hope everyone who gets there has a good time.

Should be good for me

You mentioned a church/models? Does that work for the date?

So if it doesn't, what location do you folks want to meet at? I say UofT, lots of photo ops, plus places to grab dinner afterwards in the general area? Time I'd say meet around 1pm.

Hi:

If we are set on the 18th I will check with the church. I normally pay $25 to rent the basement, so could we split the fee among the attendees?

I can also see about getting some models. Just to be clear, this would be a clothed shoot, due to the location  No nudes, no implied, etc. If there is a cost for the models (not all that much, since normally it is nudity that costs $$$) can that be split as well? That might be $50 or so for a couple of hours, with the understanding that commercial use of the work would require a release, but both photographers and models would be able to use the work for portfolio/self-promotional purposes.

In terms of time of day, what time should we start? Maybe 1 pm? (I will need a start time to verify wth the church).

Thanks

John

I'd say that's fair to split the cost for rental/models. If that's OK with the group.

Hi everyone:

I've confirmed that although it will be a busy place that day, the basement will be available for shooting. If we can make up as a group the $25, the church has agreed that the money will go to its "Out of the Cold" program, which helps feed the homeless and marginally housed in Toronto. (Feel free to give more if you like! ).

Regarding models, I can start asking, but I think beforehand (and soon) we need an idea of how might be attending; if it is a large group, we might want to get multiple models, but I would rather avoid getting multiple models if the turnout is going to be small -- we are probably looking at about $50 for two hours, per model.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

John

I'm in for the church shoot and OK to split cost for rent and models. Thanks for your work on this, John.

Thought I'd check in to get some idea of the count of attendees before booking model(s). Can people please post to indicate if they are coming?

Thanks!

John,
As said count me in. I think 3 would be a minimum number of people to make this worthwile. What do you think?

Hi again:

I think 3 would be bare minimum; model place space would be $75.

Cheers,

John

I'm going to say we're not going to do it this time around. We'll figure out a larger meet in the spring.

My lab just dropped film scanning, so I've got no means to turn a 120 neg affordably into proofs and prints. I see an Epson scanner on the horizon...
