Ok, at this particular point in time I now have 1,2,3,4,5,6 uhuh 7 cameras loaded and ready to leap into action at the drop of a hat. That is four MF and three 35's sitting with the safeties off and they could possibly put an eye out. That is a LOT of film especially the 120, I need to find a cheap source to feed my addiction. I have no problem shooting expired film and have even gotten good results from film i found in the bottom of my junk drawer. This is a growing problem that has me scrounging every nook and cranny and even the cushions of the sofa for film. I need help and soon or the next step will be rehab.

Shoot with sheet film and a view camera for awhile. You will then form the habit of taking a picture rather than shooting. Like a sniper who may only have one shot, carefully getting the right exposure, compose, expose.

I found when I pick up a 35mm now, I don't burn through a roll of film with a lot of duplicate or wasted shots.

When I started my photographic journey eons ago in High School for the year book/paper, film was supplied by the school.
In College it was the same story, free film. When I joined the Military and they found that I was handy with a camera, free film. When I got out and went back to school I worked for several papers and the local RLS, more free film. All that time, since film was free, I would shoot everything and anything. When my wife and I had our first child she insisted I get a real job. Fooey.
Now here I am 20 years later older and wiser, I am much more discriminating about the shots I take. Because of the fact that photography is not my main source of income I spend a lot of time planning out the shoots that I do. Even so, the amount of money that I spend on film would go a long way towards the dreaded "D" word purchase. My wife has blasphemed as much.

It was not my intent to mislead anyone on the forum it is just my twisted sense of humor or lack thereof. I find that the more I rediscover the joy of my first love (photography) the lighter my pocket book gets. Come to think of it my wife had that very same effect on me when we were first dating.

I'll take you up on that offer. I've always wanted to see jolly ol' England but you get the privilege of paying airfare and room and board. How big is the garden is it a quaint country gentleman's or just under being a farm, like say 1/2 an acre, or do you measure in acres over there.

Me neither, that's why I have so much in the freezer. I am trying to get the daughter to use some up but it takes her forever to go through a roll of 36.

I have been stocking up on 120 and sheet film though.

I was doing good getting my daughters to shoot 35's, now they have discovered my 4x5's---AAARrrggghhhh! Maybe I will start shooting more 35mm. At least they leave my TLR's alone, They are intimidated by my folders too. I think they only play with my 4x5's to get at my stash of Polapan 100.

First, I think our other English speaking (although sometimes you wonder if it is the same language) brothers have gone over to using hectares. Then I also recall an American asking an English fellow why they used all those different terms for common things, and the fellow from England did reply; "Well, after all, we did invent the language."

The point of contention between our cameras and the women in our lives seems to be chronic. I have been blessed with a woman in my life who also has an enthusiatic passion for "gardening." This turns out to be a true blessing. She conducted a computer inventory of her little green creatures that live in various and sundry pots, plots, and beds in and around our house. She revealed that she had at that time 1,385 different plants (she can quote the Latin names for all of them also). A most unfortunate tactical error. When the subject of my cameras came up the next time, I inquired how the plant inventory was doing. She has been much more understanding since then. But then, there is also the point about having two (2) people with obsessive-compulsive addictive personalities living in the same house.

Now I don't feel so bad having so many cameras.
And if I could could figure out how to cut a little bit of camera and make it grow in to a whole new camera.

Ralph, I appreciate the correct terminology for the English measure, I knew it had to be different. I do believe that they did invent he language how else can you explain why it is one of the most complicated languages to learn.

I am doubly blessed on this final count. All three of my children have OCD/ADD/ADHD to some extent. My wife, even though she will not admit it, is OCD (gets it honestly from her mother). And I am as my children, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. By the by, I am also from Jet City.
