What's this nonsense then???What if the government decides that film is too wasteful? All those chemicals and everything polluting the environment. Would you support the cancellation of film like fossil fuels will be stopped in automobiles? What should we do to protect our hobby?
I have an E-bike that will get me to the grocery store. That's a way to save fuel. Of course I broke a collar bone and six ribs falling of a bike once. That involved an ambulance, ER, staying home from work. This bike is made from aluminum is massive, weighs 70 pounds and has a huge motor and battery. It has a grip throttle to help me get pedaling, assists upto 40 kph. I would need to displace 5,000 miles of auto driving to offset the energy used in making the bike.Yes, I'm glad you said that. Same goes for electric cars. By the time you generate the electricity, build the batteries, add new power lines and other infrastructure I think you'll generate more pollution than you have now. Add to that battery recycling and you really will have a toxic swamp. What's more, the switch to electric vehicles will also drive up the cost of domestic power, so be prepared for a double or triple electricity bill at home.
Maybe people on Photrio just aren't happy unless they are worrying.

European geography is smaller than American. Towns are closer together. I did a vacation in the American southwest to shoot pictures in our national parks. Zero global warming impact, looks like how Western movies in the 50's and 60's depicted the Soviet bloc. No personal automobiles, much smaller homes. That's a bit harder to sell.
Doesn't have to be grim. Bring back the small towns and village life. European style cities, real mass transit is a wonderful thing.

you can use lots of stuff, and invert / make chromes with shallotsI have enough in my freezer to survive the ban for a while. Maybe I have to stock up on cheap coffee and vitamin C.
