Just curious... I usually make several matrices for bromoil printing due to all the uncertainties with the process, usually toss the unused ones.

But will a bleached and tanned matrix redevelop? Kind of hate to throw stuff away, could be fun to play around with, try it in lith developer, etc.

For Bromoil, I use the Gene Laughter recipe, Copper Sulfate, Potassium Bromide and Potassium Dichromate.

When I bleach to redevelop, I use potassium ferricyanide and potassium bromide.

Of course I could just test this, but... inquiring minds and all... I am in now way a chemistry expert!

Well.... I've used Copper Sulphate bleaches and Dichromate bleaches, but have never mixed the two. It would probably work as long as the prints have not been fixed after bleaching.

Why would you want it to redevelop? As you now have to apply the ink.

To quote from my original post...

I suppose if you only read the title it might seem confusing...

However, these are most certainly fixed after bleaching... I suppose this should have occurred to me when thinking of redevelopment!

"The only stupid question is the one you could have googled".

(or in the case above, the one you already knew, as I did try to google bromoil matrix redevelopment...)
