Hello there,
Why Leica ? What makes it ?
I wanted to add a very good photograph but after 5 years , it would be lost and my post will be like a toothless woman.
Let me try to explain, when you use color film and glow light , leica makes a record where all the face , hand, arm , neck skin, muscle, bone drapery , extremelly visible .
And the final colors looks like gold and wood fire colors.
Thats why I use Leica at the first hand. No other camera brand cant match with the color and 3Dness of Leica.
Daylight is interesting. If you swithch one stop darker , you cant find any other camera makes that oil painting colors. Ultra high quality colors
Bokeh. There is more information and second photograph at the bokeh area. People get sweet mixture of film noise and lens noise together. And everything is expressionist . There is excellent colors at bokeh area and its rich and elegant like an expensive perfumme.
How 3D comes to scene,
Max Berek was a microscope designer. He sure was knowing microscope lenses tends to eliminate lots of
details might be visible. For example , a microscope must make transparent medium visible.
Today its still big race to make unvisible detail visible.
What is this unvisible detail ? Phase of the image .
Phase carries all the refraction index variations of the object plus the topology.
Microscope lenses tends to not process the phase of the image.
In 1930 , Zernike first proposed phase microscope. It was about the external area of round lens and internal , central area of lens , interlocked the two different of light from these areas on the film and makes phase visible. There is role of the shape of the lenses and their different refractive powers.
Than Leica introduced the modulation contrast microscopy at later years.
The goal of these two technologies makes the phase converted to visible image.
Leica uses wave analysis since these years to design lenses. Nikon started to do the same two years ago for camera lenses. 70 years later or more.
I think Leica 3d ness of human skin, bone drapery is hidden in somewhere at above writing.
I am not sure and may be later will be sure.
