Bragging about the grafted-on Linhof logo AND the Rite-Aid branding on the batteries to boot! It's an absolute abortion of epic proportions - looks like someone dug through the scrap bin at an old-time mom&pop camera store and glued every last piece of leftover un-wanted crap in the junk box onto a used M6. And then smoked some bitchin' hashish and decided to list it on Ebay while it still seemed like a good idea.

This makes absolutely no sense. I call the BS card on this one- it's probably a joke listing.

Did you see the "Make an offer" option?

The seller needs to go on Antiques Road Show.

I've made an offer, lets see if he responds :D

Hope you get it. It would be the steal of the century of you got it.

It's a great piece of marketing. Thousands more are going to see this now increasing the likelihood that another person with odd taste will see and say "I've got to have that" They can make an offer after all. I've seen it go the other way Hasselblad out fit $500, then I click on it and it says it's $15,000 and you have to email him and make a payment outside of ebay.

Yeah, this is a new trend thanks to eBay's Make An Offer. He doesn't actually expect to get 1/2 a million dollars for it, it's just to make his auction stand out.

And as is the case with lots of obnoxious marketing... we're talking about it, aren't we?!

I like how it is better than an M10 Leica - didn't know the M9 replacement was named already.

He/she is just having fun, thumbing their nose at the Leica crazy-ness. I knew a guy that wanted to buy one of those lofty special edition Leica's at an auction take it out spit on the lens clean it with a hanky and start using it as his daily photo-journalism camera.

Looks like a great way for the mob to launder money. Put an outrageous price on a POS nobody would want, then buy it themselves.

I have asked if it also makes tea.

Steve.

Reminds me of the Gary Larson cartoon of two spiders that have spun a net across a playground slide.
One spider to the other:
"- If we pull this one of we're gonna eat like kings"

I was about to pay the full price, but this fatal flaw made me reconsider.

Thank God, I read this thread, otherwise I would have made a grave mistake. Lacking this feature is really the deal breaker. Pheewww, what a relief

Ebay doesn't charge you anymore based on what you ask for it, my guess is this guy is just looking for offers, and a high number like that gets him more views.
