Why is there a red-filter and a clear-filter ?

Over here with packed food, the photograph at the package is called "serving proposal".

In France, this is now the case for whatever happens to be in the box, a drill, a camera, a hammer...

If focusing is done directly on the light sensitive material through the red filter, then the clear filter could be substituted for the actual exposure. Otherwise, the focus would shift slightly. However, I wouldn't think this focus shift is enough to make a significant difference.

Check out the enlarger on the left, it has the the two swing in filters ... is this the Pictograph version ?

Confirmed by a semi-retired Durst Serviceman. The clear lens should be diffused and used with the colour/B&W analyzer. The clear lens is a place holder.

Not sure which version that was but I don't think it's the M805 Multigraph
