The beauty of imperfection comes when the view accepts one's own imperfections. It's also open's up the acceptance of an imperfect world. Don't mistake this view as not trying to strive for it. There are too many people that don't accept nor love themselves because they want to be "perfect". But if you see the world as it is and not look for flaws or lacking in perfection, a world of beauty opens up. If we see beauty in "imperfection" plastic surgeons and the beauty industry would be dead and self-hatred would be gone.

There is only imperfection, some of it beautiful, some of it not.

Yes. The OT begins with a nearly-religious statement of belief: that imperfection is beautiful.

For some Christians, Satan is the most beautiful angel.

Perfection is an abstract concept, having purported "meaning" or "value" or "beauty" only in particular contexts.

Perfection is a moving target 1000 meters away, and I have a pea-shooter.

Each can be overwhelming or captivating in their own way.
Garry Winogrand said we all know what a nice picture looks like. For many of us avoiding the clichés we have in our head is the toughest obstacle in photography. Other people make money from servicing those expectations. I find photographs that are completely under control rather boring. Photographs that offer some control and some chaos are fascinating. Images that are all chaos sometimes work, sometimes, not. By and large it's better to be lucky than good - there are no shortage of good photographers. If you're good and lucky you hit the jackpot.

This has been on my mind now for a while, you notice the question is not :

Here I am thinking of St. Ansel , how hard and long he work to make his perfections.
I all of my reading of Ansel Adams (St. Adams, really?) he never said he or his images were perfect but free wrote about his mistakes!
