I have been trying to take pictures with my camera for a few days and I am finally realizing that when I take a picture, take up spool will advance normally but moves backwards after I take a new photo.

It has made film advance nearly impossible and the film always comes lose and stops advancing - and I’m not sure what to do about it

I don't know this camera. Apologies if I state the obvious here...
Are you sure you have the right uptake spool? Do you mean the spool itself turns on its shaft?

For what it's worth, the manual (with Russian text) is at http://www.zenitcamera.com/mans/narciss/narciss.html
It looks like they want you to insert the film backwards through the slot in the spool, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be much that's tricky. Does your uptake spool look like theirs?

The rewind release seems to be a button on the base; does that press something on the uptake spool itself? It may be something in the rewind mechanism is stuck.

Seems like a stuck clutch latch on the intermediate gear stack.
