Finally going through some family stuff I've been putting off, I found this image of my father's family. Can you even imagine this image in color? I've been trying; just can't quite see it.

I am only a recent convert to black and white, but the more of it I shoot the more I love it...
I think that a lot of shots only owrk in monochrome, the colours overwhelm it otherwise.
Also by reducing a photograph to tones you can get the essenceo of some scenes that colour would detract from.
Of course, autumn leaves work best on colour transparency!
