I have just aquired an 8x10 Korona View camera that looks in reasonable shape. The bellows have been repaired - it looks like they knew what they were doing. My sweetie is crafting a lens board to take my 240mm lens. I'll post pictures of it soon. I'm going to need film holders. Anyone got a couple kicking around, looking for a good home?

I just received the same camera, with a brass petzval type lens...looks like we're in the same boat!

Holders come up quite often, I don't think they'll be hard to find.

Absolutley! cyanos, gums, and pt/pd for sure. Maybe I'll try some of the other processes too. Biggest problem? All the other things that take time away from photography! I've got so many projects in my head, new ones keep popping in, and there just isn't time!

Congrat's on the 8x10! I love this format. Very portable! When you have been hauling an 11x14 or 8x20 as is the case with my last few outings you will find the 8x10 to be a lightweight system.

Picture of my new treasure

Here's my new camera.

Korona View Camera
Seebold Invisible Camera Corp

looking up the history of Korona and Seebold I assume it was made 1928-30.

See how nicely it matches the 1940's panelling in our living room?

My first 8x10 was a Korona View, a great camera, and I see you have the extension rail as well. Good luck! Shawn

I'm very jealous.

I'd thought about moving up from 4x5 recently as I absolutely adore contact prints and just contact printing in general, but I didn't want to have to deal with buying one off shore from ebay and I can't really justify the cost at the moment either. So I just ordered a 90mm for my 4x5 to tide me over

I'd still love to use one.

Very nice Lillian! We should have a celebratory visit soon, it's been a while! Plus I've never seen an 8x10 in person up close before. Maybe when I finish getting my darkroom up and running we could have a dual celebration! :D

I've got film holders and film ordered, so I hope to be able to use it (rather than just look at it and grin and fiddle with the focusing knobs) in a couple of weeks. Let me know when you have some free time by PM and we'll see what gels. How is your darkroom coming?
