Ralph, I'd love to catch up again. I just wish there wasn't nearly 3,000km between Perth and Melbourne. I hope you have a very enjoybale stay. You should try and contact / drop in to see Ellie Young at Gold Street Studios if you head up to the hills by any chance.

Raoul, that is quite interesting, I'll keep that link.

I just put in Way Beyond Monochrome Edition Two and the range of prices is staggering.

The first four places look as though they come from the USA and UK sellers and their prices are between $59.00 AUD and $60.00 AUD including delivery.

The last one is Angus and Robertson in Australia at $179.95 AUD including delivery.

Shopkeepers in Australia wonder why we shop overseas, even adding the GST component of 10% if we were slugged for it, you are so way ahead you are laughing.

I might add that the majority of Australian sellers, as far as I can work out anyway, range from $112.00 to $140.00, which is still quite a difference.

I've been watching this thread, waiting to see how the little was going to be closer to the date. Things are finally settling down, he (and his Mum!) are finding a bit of a routine and calming down a fair bit. I'd love to come along, but then I remember that Ralph's here to visit family, I just have pictures in my head of this becoming a huge event and the poor guy just wanting to get out of there and hang out with his son!

Just in case I do end up tagging along, and apologies if this is well covered and I've just overlooked it, did there end up being a consensus on where to head?

I was told by my son that he will through me out if I keep complaining about the prices in Australia. I would go to a hotel, but then again, the prices of a room around here ...

Steve attend you know you want too. I am hoping to take some pictures & learn some tricks from Ralph. BTW Ralph prices are cheaper at the markets. Don't know if they have camera gear, plenty of knock off stuff.

Now what camera to take ?

friend of a friend set this up - magic!

For books, Book Depository can have good prices - their postage is inclusive and it usually takes less than a week to be delivered. Abe Books is good too.

See you all on Saturday.

Ralph, forget the hotel idea, we have a sauna in the backyard, comes with central heating, although you might wish to turn it down.

It could be worse. You could both live in Canberra.
I hope you all have a good time with Ralph. I just wish I could've been there. Silly me, moving to Canberra may not have such a good idea. I'll miss out on all the get togethers.

Okay, can we have a show of hands for who will be there and on time, and who will be a straggler? Raoul has posted his mobile number for the stragglers, so they can catch up when they can.

I will be there, to the left of the main Victoria Market entrance on Elizabeth Street on Sat (2nd April) at 11 am.

Everybody else?

I will try. If I can make it to the meeting, I will be on time. I am going to NZ next week and still have lots of work on my desk which needs to be finished before that. I hope I can make it. Joachim
