I have a Speed Graphic I bought and the focal plane shutter is slow and some speeds such as 1/60 don't work. Can anyone recommend someone to repair it? I tried SK Grimes with no luck. Thanks.

Steve Choi at Steve's Camera Repair in Culver City, CA. Check out his web site.

Hmm. Didn't see Speed Graphic listed but I did see he is an independent Leica repair person who is quite a bit closer than some of the others I have used in the past.

i think zack's also retimes those shutters
but not sure ( he's an apug sponsor/advertiser as well ).

Look at the picture. Interesting that you'd be contradicting folks when you have nothing more to offer.

He is also factory trained Hasselblad guy.

Thanks everyone.

I'll try both suggestions.

Good luck Mr B. A working focal plane shutter is a very useful thing. Makes barrel lens use a breeze!

Brian I have a couple barrel lens that I've been itching to use.

Also FWIW M R B are my initials.

I was not intending to contradict you. I do apologize if that was how you felt.

All is forgiven Dan. Apologies to you for being so reactionary.

Nah, its not an issue.

Besides, now I know where to send one of my Speeds or Crowns if they ever need any attention that I can't give.

Frank Rubio, aka the Camera Doctor, did a superb job overhauling my 1949 Speed Graphic. He's in Manhattan and can be contacted at: (917) 916–3396 or email cameraMDfr@gmail.com
Good luck, Paul
