I now do all repairs here, except for lenses. That requires more space, especially for cleaning work.

I’m in a small Brooklyn apartment, so space is definitely limited. I use my home-built coffee table as my “workbench” to do basic repairs. One helpful feature is the center section of the table raises out of the frame - great for bringing the work closer.

I typically have a magnetic mat on the table (not shown in pic) which helps with bouncing/dropped screws. It’s tight, but so far it’s worked ok for the few cameras I’ve messed with.

My grandfather used to say "necessity is the mother of invention..." Small spaces force some serious thought about clutter
