A family member dropped off a couple Leica's but the IIIf is missing the take up spool. I am confused about what I need as ebay listings are all over the place with compatibility.
I don't care who makes it, A russian copy is fine as I will only rarely use the camera. I wear glasses and can't see through the miniature finder hole.

What cameras use the same style? Anyone have an extra one I can buy?

The Canon RF take up spool has a cool spring loaded pop up feature, and fits Leica screw mount bodies.

Any good Leica dealer or repair person may have one to sell. My local one had one in an original box.

CRR of Luton were making them a few years ago

While a Canon bottom loader spool may fit getting one is probably more difficult than a Leica one.

Donno about a Zorki I one fitting the Zorki I ones I have don't work wonderfully in Zorki I.

they have them for $55 + shipping. Not bad for what goes into them but I can't get $50 worth of photos with that camera. If it was my only camera, or I really liked using it, I'd be excited.

There's a seller in the Ukraine who seems to have a few that might be right (probably from old FSU cameras). They're cheap at least if you want to try one. KEH has one for around $62.

I've worn glasses for longer than I've been using a IIIc (and I've had that camera for 30+ years). Give it a try. Theyre a joy to use.

An external finder, even for the normal 50mm lens, makes composing a breeze.

Frank...ly

I guess Frank's brain works faster than mine does (whut a surprise at my age) but a finder would do wonders for your squint problem and the 3f, although also hard to load, is -- well, a Leica.

Here's mine.

I can't imagine those come cheap.

Family member also dropped off an M3 with a 35mm and 90mm but no 50. I think I am better iff with a screw mount adapter and the collapsible from the 3f.

I just thought I should use it once a year...hopefully a cheap zorki spool will work

Generous family member!
Yeah, I feel kinda guilty but they are happy that someone they know knows what they are and will enjoy then. I guess they don't need the money. I won't sell them and won't feel nervous about using them like I would if I bought them... If that makes since..

You'll really like the M3. Viewfinder/rangefinder is much brighter than the III. I use my M with an LTM Summitar and a $7 adapter from eBay.
