Hi all,

I would like to purchase an original (or 3rd party - doesn't matter as long as its a good quality piece) push-on lens hood for a pre-war Bessa 6x9 RF folder.

My camera is one of these:

(Page URL: http://www.retrography.com/bessa.htm)

What's the part number for the hood suitable for this camera?

What other options for improvising a hood? (I mean by doing "small" modifications to a more readily available product...)

TIA,
Loris.

There are threads on the lens but I don't know their exact size. I purchased a cheap (but nice!) 37mm generic lens hood but (unfortunately) it's large (by - maybe - 1mm margin) for the threads.

Try asking Jurgen Kreckel jurgen@certo6.com. I just bought a 1939 6x9 Welta Weltur from him with a push on lens hood and a set of filters. He also sells Bessa range finders and may have a hood available.

Loris, I may have some filters that fit I'll check the size when I'm back in Kusdasi in about 2 weeks. What is the lens though I can get the size from some adverts I have for the cameras. I have some push on lens hoods in storage here at my mothers, no idea where they came from, I'll go & look for them over the weekend they don't fit any of my cameras.

John, I have an eye on Jurgen's (and other ebay sellers') pages, thanks for reminding.

Ian, it's the pre-war uncoated Skopar. I think all the lenses (Vaskar, Skopar, Heliar ...) had the same diameter. The opposite isn't feasible from an engineering point of view... Thanks for checking.

Regards,
Loris.
