Which camera is better and sharper edge to edge. curved plane pinhole camera or anamorphic pinhole camera ?

I'd be interested to hear where your interest in an "anamorphic pinhole" concept came from and what you're intending to achieve with it.

Is there a "correct" answer to this question? Surely they produce two quite different images. The curved plane version will have more-or-less the same resolution/sharpness over the whole field of view, as the distance from the pinhole to each point on the film is (roughly) the same. In the anamorphic case, part of the film is much closer to the pinhole, so that part of the film image will have a different sharpness to the part of the film farthest away from the pinhole.

Or am I missing something? (Quite probable!)

I love anamorphic pinhole cameras for few reason

1- Size of the negative is large but camera is so small
2- If you keep the camera horizontal the panorama is normal otherwise curved
3- Pinhole to film distance is minimum but final coverage is large
4- And it can take normal or wild images
5- 3d printing time is least
6- Mechanism is elegant and it works better than large size cameras , friction is lower

Curved plate pinhole will be sharper. "Better" is up to you: the anamorphic images are very distorted and can't compare to a regular projection.

Pinholes are usually embraced by people who don't mind the introduction of some softness into the image. No pinhole is very sharp until you get towards 8x10 or larger.
