A few weeks ago, just bought a Rolleiflex 3.5. Serial number is 1750291, and by looking at online references like:
Either it's a 3.5C or E. Anyway, a few Google searches, e.g (Rolleiflex Lens Hood Sizes?) pointed that the correct lens hood is Bay II (34Ø).

That's 34, right?

Hmm... couldn't attach the hood on the taking lens. Virtually there's no gap between the rims of those lenses. After some attempts, I don't see any way to put the hood.

BTW, the seller included a Rollei R11 orange filter, and it fits nicely.

OK now I'm confused. What's the proper lens hood, then? I wonder if a push-on lens hood will fit...

You need a Bayonet II hood with a cutout. You can buy brand new reproduction hoods on eBay. The one I bought fits my 3.5E Xenotar perfectly.

Genuine Bay II filters can be tricky to find. I suggest buy immediately if you find a nice one in the color you want.

The spacing between the lenses was increased for the F cameras (and E3) to accommodate the coupling mechanism. I know that this affects the lens caps. Not sure if this opened up enough room for a hood without cutouts for the dials.

I think you inadvertently wound up with a Rolleiflex 2.8A lens hood, which is also 34mm, but does not have the cut outs.

That is ironic, as this lens hood is much harder to find than a stock 3.5 (whatever model) hood!

A distinct difference between the A lens hood and the later Bay II hoods is that the A has its bayonets oriented differently. The tabs on the camera face are at 0/120/240 degrees with 0 at top. Other Rolleis have the tabs at 60/180/300 degrees.

So the hood is for 2.8A. I see.
Well, guess my mission to find the proper lens hood isn't accomplished. And time put a "Rollei 2.8A" on my todo list

Good thinking! The lens hood for the 2,8A is hard to find, so you might just well get the camera to fit. The 2,8A is the only Rolleiflex with the 2,8/80 Tessar. 🙂

Well I have a Rolleiflex f3.5F. I have a Rollei hood with cutouts that fits on to my B%W uv filter. If you have a Rollei leather case, you cannot leave the lens hood on. You can leave a filter on. I have filters on both the taking lens and the viewing lens.
