I have some vacation time saved up, and the wife has given me to go ahead to take a few days away from the family and devote to photography. Woohoo!. It looks like early to mid June would be the best time to go due to work, and the age of our youngest.

The big question now is, what should I do?

I've been looking at workshops, and of course, none are available during my open time. I'd really like to take a platinum, or LF contact printing workshop...

I'm now just thinking about going on a short (4 day) photo trek. Does anyone have anything cool planned for this time period, or is anyone interested in setting something up? Booking airfare soon, would mean it would be fairly inexpensive to get anywhere in the US.

Let me know!

I took a one on one, platnum printing workshop from David Micheal Kennedy in Santa Fe New Mexico a few years ago. I learned an amazing amount. You might try him if he is still doing it.

Brian, have you thought about contacting Kerik Kouklis, he is a very good plt./gum over plt. printer there in CA? He post here one in a while and does do workshops, if not he may know of someone that has one. Try him at www.kerik.com - don't Kerik, other than through emails, but he seems like a really good guy.

Almost forgot, if not a workshop, then maybe a trip out to Canyon de Chelly or maybe S. Central Utah...

Victor School of Photography in Victor Colorado is going to open this summer. It is Al Weber's school and is very good. Don't know the schedule.

Brian, if you have never experienced the heat in AZ in June, you might want to wait til it is a bit cooler. I just got back last night from Page. Last Sat. during the big reunion, it snowed on us. Last year at the same time it was so hot they were all complaining. June AZ is known as the driest hottest of all the months. Not unusal for it to hit upward of 110 in Page area. Down lower it can reach 120 or higher.

Just a thought about the heat. No fun when you are dripping sweat on your film. Besides the best time for the light in that area is early spring or Fall.
