Ask a silly question here and look at all the answers ... thanks all, now the mystery is somewhat solved for me.
I would like to hear about which chemical is doing the de cloaking.

I remember being shocked by this 40 yaers ago with ADOX (the original) films and Rodinal. I dumped out the developer and the solution as a deep purple! I was expecting clear of course, I nearly dropped my tank.

The dye may be part of the colour sensitization, or it might be anti-halo or both. Most 120 film has an ant-halo dye on the back - wrap a short bit of tape over the end of the roll when loading the tank to preserve a sample.

For any Pt Pd printer who wants to introduce permanent colour on top of palladium platinum print come over to the dark side a bit

what a wonderful tool that is added to our arsenal of workflow.

I have been searching for a permanent solution to tri tone and I have it now at my fingertips... When Sean gets it up and going with the new
integrated site I will be able to talk in no uncertain terms about a GAME CHANGER - IMHO of course.
