Remember, the farther you walk, the more you'll appreciate having an 8x10. No need to pay for membership in some stinky gym. Save that money for film.

The weight increases as a cube of the distance.

That just means better exercise. Wasn't it Einstein who tried to put time and gravity into the same equation? Heck, I figured that out by myself. The pack gets a little heavier each year.

I tell the people who run my gym, "I am here. I am exercising, but you cannot make me like it!"

I take an exercise class at the Y. Last class some people were telling the lady who taught it how much they liked it. I kept my mouth shut. I don't like the class but I sure like how I feel from taking it. :D

I got shingles a few years ago. After awhile I got bored with and headed to the woods anyway with my 8x10 pack, big wooden tripod and all. Now that was some good exercise, if only a few miles. There's nothing quite like the feel of fire ants all over your back to get you aerobically moving quickly back to the truck. I recommend it to everyone. You'll never complain about the weight of the pack itself afterwards.

I had shingles a few years ago. No fun at all!
