Where Can I Send Graphic Lens n US For Overhaul?

I’ll share my “old spring” theory and others will surely disagree. Broken spring are known failures. Stretched coil springs are known failures. All other springs may get weaker but it’s just conjecture. I haven’t seen a single person in all my days that has measured a spring and verified weakness. Mainsprings were/are routinely replaced and I believe that is a good practice “just in case.” Im not convinced that the worry over old worn-out weak springs is as valid as photo forum discussions claim. It’s repeated so often that it’s become an assumed truth, yet the major truth seems that its an assumption.

The better test of your shutter… shoot film and look at the negative! It’s probably a very fair assumption that the shutter was serviced properly and is within the reasonable specifications.

@F4U your measurements seem consistent with the expected efficiency when stopped down. Unless you're worried about a 1 stop overexposure in specific circumstances, I would use the nominal values.

Well I went out in the country to shoot a couple XRay film shots. Set up at a picturesque little pond with a little pier, with big puffy white clouds and a wheat field in the background, with my yellow-green filter on and pulled out the darkslide and shot it, and flipped over the darkside and slipped it back in. Then packed up and drove around and found an old barn. Set up, pulled out the darkslide and tripped the shutter and slipped the darkslide back in. Then saw the white end of the darkslide that was facing me, and said, "why is it white?" The reason it was white is that I am still my own worst enemy, so I flipped the film holder over and re-shot. It'll be dark after while and I can develop my 2 pieces of film. I'll have one double-exposed negative, and 1 negative of a barn. I'm glad I take my Nikon F with me and shoot everything I shoot on 4x5 and 8x10, for insurance. What a dunce.

I have a pile of LF leaf shutters and lenses. Your shutter measurements look about normal compared to mine. My primary concern is repeatability. When I test the shutters I write down the measured speeds before I go out to make pictures- and I test each speed 3-4 times to be sure I get nearly identical results each time.
Don’t worry, just go out and shoot with your known speeds. And that $125 price tag was extremely reasonable.

Final Report. My 1 negative from today's trip was 1 full stop underexposed. Shot at 1/50 at f/16 with a yellow green filter. It was a dark weathered barn with a near background of dense tree growth. I used no meter. Simply made my setting following the "sunny f/16" rule. That rule only applies to fully open non-beach scenes in the summertime sun for my geographic latitude. I should have used 1/25 OR f/11. I don' really care about the shot, because the barn is only 1/4 mile up the road. What IS exciting is that I finally have a shutter where I know when to blame myself, instead of doubting my equipment. AND my skills. And never knowing which was worse. This shutter was in mint condition and had never been serviced. From the looks of it, it hadn't even been used much in it's 70 years. The other negative was perfectly exposed. how could it NOT? It had a pond scene and a barn scene all on the same piece of film. both underexposed by 1 full stop. I have a good Super Graphic and lens now. All I have to do now is to be sure I packed a brain in my camera bag. Comes in handy. Thanks. Regards.
