If todays engineers had apug mind , it would take 100000 engineers to send a satellite to space or 200 years  I am an amateur instrument designer and I found it would cost 10 dollars pirated software and couple of hours of mastering it or it would cost 400 hours of youtube lessons , noting the equations and crazy calculation process etc. I selected to download the software and its broken at the middle !!! HAH
two ways didnt work for me but I think russian torrents and their malware would the last exit.

I resist technology when it gets in my way. As long as it does it's job while not interfering with me doing mine we're good. And that changes with the situation.

Byrne is a trip. I love his music and approach to it.

At one time a train was called technology. At one time a car was called technology. At one time a telephone was called technology.

Technology is merely today's inventions and there will always be technology addicts and over users.

As this applies to music, photography or other creative outlets, has sort of two avenues. One is amateur and the other is professional. In other words one is for fun, and the other is to make money.

As responsible thinking adults, we should probably learn the technology but be wise enough to know when to step back.

There are times when it helps us and when it hinders us.

Every level of technology has its place.

I enjoy the fact that I'm just as adept with digital cameras and digital processing techniques as I am with film cameras and darkroom work.

My day job is a Tech Monkey. I say is let the early adopters be the crash test dummies. As for my personal life, I'm burned out on the latest and greatest. Most of my technology is old at home. I'm a Mac user and I'm using G4 and G5 computers. I don't have the latest Iphone, but one that's 4 years old. My brother gave me my first flat screen TV. I'd rather spend my time and money on other things. Technology can actually hinder the creative process. The Zen fortunate mistake can't happen in a digital world.

Edward Weston didn't let the newest and best technology get in the way of his fine photography.

When to resist technology?

Whenever the same people who created and sold you the problem are also trying to create and sell you the solution to that problem.

For the uninitiated, this covers almost all modern consumer digital technologies...

I enjoyed the thought he expressed in the part where he's saying "it's there if people want it"...

Reminded me of prints from 4x5 negatives...

I advocate The Last Big Thing. There's nothing so despised as the recently fashionable and now superseded. Things people tore each others arms off for as recently as two years ago can be picked up for buttons and discarded for the same price if it fails to live up to expectations.
