Silverprint.UK sells HT-2 TEST SOLUTION.
"This solution is made to the recommended HT-2 silver nitrate formula. HT-2 is mainly for use in determining if fibre-based papers have been adequately washed. A drop of the solution is placed on the margin of the print, left for 2 minutes, and then blotted off. Any stain darker than a light straw colour indicates too high a residual thiosulphate level, and further washing is required"

Unfortunately they do not ship it abroad and to Norway. Does anyone know anyone that sells it and also send it to Norway?

Thanks

Various people make test solutions for checking the wash status. I understand that most of them are not sensitive enough to assure archival washing. Someone suggested that as a rule of thumb, you should was prints 50 percent longer than the minimum time indicated by these tests. I don't know how valid this rule of thumb is. You can make up you own test solution:

Kodak HT-2 residual hypo test
Water 750 ml
Acetic acid (28%) 125 ml
Silver nitrate 7.5 g
WTM 1 l
Place a drop of the solution in the center of a blank white print that has been fixed and washed with the others. After 2 minutes in subdued light, flush the paper with a mild salt water solution. The presence of anything more than a slight yellow stain indicates hypo is present.

Try MonochromePhotography.com Peter Hogan runs it and sells to Europe and the rest of thee world. He has HT-2 and a lot of other good things as well.

Tanks to all of you.
I looked at Peter Hogans site, but didn't find it. But I'll email him.

I think I read somewhere that a drop of selenium toner concentrate is a good test, it will show staining if there is residual fixer in the paper.

That's how you test for proper fixation. I'm afraid it won't show you anything about residual fixer.

EDIT: You usually place a drop or two of a 1+9 solution of selenium toner for 2-3 minutes, although concentration isn't really critical.

Ilford's Version

Ilford's HT-2 is nothing more than a 1% solution
of silver nitrate. Conduct the test in subdued light.
Blot after 3 minutes. Read immediately after in
better light. NO stain will bring you close to or
perhaps to 'archival' levels.

Very little of the solution will last a long time.
I usually scatter a few drops on the small
sheets used for testing. Dan

Thanks;
Wolfgang Moersch sells it. (Silver nitrate)
I'l mail him.

When you get to Peter Hogan's site there is a Shop within Europe section. If you click on this then both Halide and Fixer testers come up. I have just tried it to make sure.

Do you mean 'a little goes a long way', because I don't think it last very long at all, a few months maybe?

Both Longs

Who's ever eye dropper there are a lot of drops in even
a one ounce bottle. So, will go a long way.
I'd think dark storage and glass needed for this salt of silver.
It's as oxidized as it ever will be. Perhaps it is good for years.
What might there be to spoil it? Dan
