As I am looking at updating my digital side of things to a Olympic mirrorless, it was an easy decision to buy this OM-30. Cannot wait to load this with some Fuji Superia 200.

My latses acquisition was an Asahi AP with the oru=iginal lens. It needs CLA but I send every 25mm slr that I get for CLA. They are all very old so I'm pretty sure that they all need it.

Worth the drive just an hour from Melbourne, I picked up a full preloved camera kit in an aluminium case consisting of an immaculate Minolta X-700, MC & MD lenses, as new Tamron 103a, PX Minolta flashes and thrown in a couple of point and shoots. Put some batteries in the black Canon Sure Shot auto focus - nothing. Tried the old bang on the table repair job and sure enough it opened it's eye and sprang into life. Wish a DOA Nikon FA I've got was that easy to fix.

My latest old camera is not 35mm, it's a Zenza Bronica S2 with its NikkorP 75mm/2.8 lens an extra back and a set of close-up lenses.

Hey Paul, those are good ol' cameras. A word of caution if you're not familiar with them, though. The S2a is a revised S2 and has metal gears in a crucial area where the S2's were nylon, I believe. The S2 is known for being rather delicate because of this, whereas the S2a is more robust. So if yours is indeed an S2, treat it with kid's gloves.

And if you already know all this, then well never mind.

I guess I'll grind my S2 till it's dead. Those things, ya gotta push hard to cock the shutter.

Latest camera, Halina/Ansco pixflash. Focus Free! Loaded up with some expired Gold 800 from 10 years ago I think I might see Bigfoot...

I did too. It was also my first Contax. I bought it brand new back in December of 1983 I believe. A Christmas sale at a local Camera store. That 50mm f/1.7 lens was indeed a peach.

My newest old camera is a Minolta Autocord. I got it cheap. Cosmetically it looks great but the shutter won't cock. I'm going to have to get it fixed along with a CLA. I've been playing with it and it just feels right in my hands. I think that I'm going to really enjoy it.

Latest new old camera, bundle deal at the car boot. Voigtlander Vito B, lovely clean condition and Zeiss Symbolica, stuck shutter. Hopefully the shutter blades are just gummed up with old grease, will have a proper look on my next day off.

An F and another FM2n. F was a $45 purchase. Mainly picked up for the MD plate and the F2-era eyecup retaining ring that allows a diopter to be threaded into it. The FM2n was picked up to replace the one I had with the meter coupling that got stuck.

A nice fully working Konica C35AF, seals will probably need doing in the future. Only cost £3.70, so can't complain.

Pentax SF1 with 35-70 AF lens. $32 shipped to my door. The camera appeared to work normally for a couple of minutes before it went TU and died. Bummer.

Attempt Number 2: Contax 139 Quartz (still en route from France), comes complete with a Tamron SP 17mm f/3.5 (second version). I have this exact same 17mm lens, so I'll sell one of them and end up pocketing a few bucks, plus I'll get a free 139Q and C/Y adaptall-2 mount out of the deal. Takes some of the sting out of the Pentax fail.

And while it is not as rare as an Olympus M-1, I lusted for this untouchable gem so much as a young teen that I just have to post a close up of this Topcon Super D, although acquired a few years ago.

You have a very fine camera there and a very, very good lens. I feel the same way about its silky smooth and almost silent clock-work. I don't know if you know this trick or not, but if you want mirror lockup for macro and such it's there. All you have to do is set your camera up, focus and all, then pretend you are flicking a pea off the shutter release so that your finger just lightly scrapes the shutter release fast. The mirror wil swing up and the shutter will remained closed until you trip it. Thus avoid mirror slap vibration. Pentax was a truly professional M42 system that finally lost out to the most change.

Another chrome F FTn... Got a deal on it that I couldn't pass up. $75, plus tax for the body and a 50/1.4 Nikkor-S, three Nikon leather lens cases, and upper half of a black CTT Nikon case. Bought it mainly because it has a nicely working, albeit un-recalibrated FTn finder and the lens was clean. Already have moved the AI ring from the 50/1.4 SC over to the S and reverted the SC to pre-AI status. The body, with my late model F's FTn finder and the aforementioned 50/1.4 SC, will be rehomed with BradleyK sometime this summer.
