I love the FE2. It's with me more often than the heavier F3.

Recently I picked up the Olympus XA2 (didn't come with a flash). Can't wait to put a roll through it.

Looks homemade...

It yields focusing, though not direct framing, and one switch between vertical and horizontal orientation.

But that framing issue necessitates a camera with rise or shift.

It rotates so the film plane swaps places with the ground glass. So framing should not be an issue. Homemade, but well made, and very cleverly constructed.

Thanks! I only got done with overhauling the lens (Industar 26M) this past Sunday evening, and had just enough time to mount it onto my Sony A7 and fire off a couple of hand-held shots at close range. Initial impression is that it could be a good one if you like your images to "glow" a bit, might make for flattering portraits. Lens has numerous light cleaning marks but it's pretty much spotless now.

Don't ask me to be too objective about the lens or the camera though: It was my first effort at a full overhaul w/shutter curtain replacement. Ended up re-doing the shutter many times but am super-pleased by how well it turned out. As received, the painted portions of the camera body were not in very good condition, and I needed to handle the vulcanite body covering with particular care, but I thought it all looked pretty amazing when refinished. Deep blue color of the vulcanite is my own addition.

Since the original thread came out I bought a Bronica ETR-S, body, lens, AE finder, and back for $195. I own several 6x6 & 6x7 cameras but never a 645. I used to think of them as toys. I'm very impressed with this little gem, so much I invested in 3 more lenses for it.
My other new toy is a Nikon 24mm f3.5 ED PC-E shift/tilt lens which doesn't qualify for this forum because it won't work on any Nikon film bodies except a F6. It's a beautiful lens but I have lots of learning to do.

I keep stumbling across great film cameras in lovely condition. Seems that I am becoming a bit obsessed with trying to free them back to their natural habitat after years of languishing in closets. I just got this one, ordered a new screen from Rick Oleson and just finished installing it. Really brings this camera alive again. Came with two matching black film backs in just as nice condition as the body. I'll probably run a roll or two through it, pass it on for what I have in it and then go find another that needs to be freed. Then again, I could also just see myself falling in love with this one!

A couple. One that's on-topic for the forum, and the other, not so much. Kenmore Camera in the Seattle area has a "junk" sale going on right now. Picked up a lens for my Nikon bodies (a 75-300 AF Nikkor that binds a little going from 200mm to 300mm) and two cameras. An Argus C3 (earlier version without accessory shoe) and a Hasselblad 500EL/M. The C3 works, but is kinda crusty inside. Lens looks to be pretty clean, glass-wise. Will get the inside of the camera cleaned up and load up a roll of film to see how it performs. The 500EL/M arrived as a trade-in with dead batteries, so it may work, unlike the 500EL I had about 6 years ago that only growled angrily at me when power was applied. It needs some stuff before I can shoot with it. One of which being a lens.

An Agimatic. I have run one film through it to prove it works so intend giving it a better try out. Really weird machine. Press down the lever to fire the shutter and then continue down to wind the film on! there is also an uncouple range finder and what looks lie an extinction meter. Lens is a f2.8 45mm Anastigmat. I think lens can be change to one with longer focal length. 'Made in England' and the firm is still on the go, although nothing to do with cameras.

I just bought a Pentax A3000 with 50mm f2 lens. It was with a few Canon rebels that I got to pass along to a high school photography class. The A3000 seems to work fine. I think I will load some tri-x in it tomorrow and see what it can do. I mainly use Nikon gear, but really like my Pentax MX with 50 f1.4 that I bought recently.

An Agfa Silette. It appears to be the Type 6 model. It has a Prontor-SVS and the 2.8 45mm AGFA Color-Apotar. 10 shutter speeds, 300 125 60 30 15 8 4 2 1 and Bulb.

Nikon Nikomat FT2

Mainly boomerang stuff today.

Stopped by Camera Clinic to make another payment on the FM2n that I'm reacquiring. Found out that, yes, the rumor is true. After 37 years, the shop is finally closing down. In any case, asked if the owner had any junker Nikons he wanted to get rid of. Came home with a box of six Nikkormat bodies for free. Four are bodies I've owned in the past 4-8 years. Two weren't. The boomerang bodies are: Nikomat FTn in black with dead meter cells and a worn ring resistor (being parted out), a chrome Nikomat FTn that was missing parts and is jammed (also being parted out), a Nikkormat FT that had an FTn meter movement installed, and missing nameplate (anyone have an FS or FT nameplate in chrome that they don't need? It's the flat one), and a Nikkormat FT3 that I'd donated to the shop with an erratic meter and some shutter firing issues. Meter was overhauled, but the firing issues remained. Fixed that problem a couple hours ago and also swapped on a nicer back. Still need to replace the mismatched leatherette piece on the wind-side front of the body with one that I pulled from a junker late model FTn last year. Also, like the FT, I'd like to find a proper chrome nameplate for it. At this time, it wears the chrome FTn's nameplate

The rest were a chrome Nikkormat FTn with weak, but smooth meter - corrosion on (+) terminal in chamber - and bad foam; and a Nikomat EL in black that had the usual lost rewind knob issue with the shaft dropped into the film chamber. The chrome FTn is being refoamed and will be getting its contacts cleaned before it's pressed into service. I may be picking up a chrome FT2 that's pretty clean, but needs a replacement shutter speed ring - meter's very erratic when you adjust the shutter speed, but glass smooth when the aperture ring is moved.

To the poster above me, nice FT2.

Found This Canon AE-1P, a bargain at A$52. Finder is a bit dusty and the seals look great. Better still shutter is smooth. Film tested.

Best of all, owned by a film photographer deciding to concentrate on medium format.

My friendly camera tech will get this shortly for a look over and at least clean the finder.

Rather chuffed.

That little plastic ugly 35-70 lens is actually a decent lens, good for travels etc.

And now i have a Nikomat FTN but it's not black

This machine is one of my candidates for 'toughest SLR ever', i suspect it is even tougher than the Nikon F or F2...

I was lucky to get it - and it was cheap ($12.50)
I was surprised that no-one had showed any interest in it and was very pleased to have snapped it up.

John, I have a chrome parts Nikkormat -- I think it's an FT3, but I'm not sure if it has a nameplate (I bought it as a parts camera and it was already missing some stuff.) It's in another part of the house. I'll check if it has a name plate, and report back.
