Interesting - it's Cosina designed. Cameraquest has nothing on it - and Stephen usually writes about faster-than-f/2 rangefinders.

I'm starting to like that table; it has character.

It was also sold under the Revue brand, I don't recall the model number, and is a virtual clone of the Konica Auto S3.

The table is actually an old silverware case. It is full of filters, and viewfinders, and miscellaneous stuff.

Canon F1n. Just aquired this today. Speeds sound good. Light meter seems to work. Small dent in the finder but nothing to loose sleep over. Very minimal brassing. One problem, NO bottom plate but I think I may have remedied the problem with a neveready case I found at the bottom of my camera junk cabinet. Not just a junk drawer as some people (most) have. 1st Roll in it now. Will have to rewind the film in the dark as there is no hole for tripping the rewind button until I take off the case.

Dennis, I'm almost certain that you can shoot with your original F-1 without a bottom plate. The film shouldn't get exposed to light.

I visited St. Petersburg and bought a couple of cameras that certain APUG members love to hate.

I think they're rather cute. The one with yellow filter is from '59, the one without from '60. Shot a couple of rolls with both - the color rolls turned out OK, the black-and-white one I haven't developed yet.

Who can have the Zenit S? They are cute little cameras...actually these were the SLRs Leica was supposed to produce but they never "got" that.

Actually the Xr2 predated the FE by some months and while it has the same Copal shutter it's definitely an older design as it's a full size camera like a Pentax K, not a smaller Nikon FM model.

While definitely not a K2DMD it's definitely a sturdy camera, this one was neglected for many years if I have to judge from the conditions but the self timer is working and the plastic top looks sturdier than the thin brass top of a Pentax MX, for instance.

On the other side I don't have a FE but I've a FM and while well put together it's miles away for the building quality of a Pentax K camera, in particular the K2DMD that looks as solid and sturdy (and almost as heavy) as a Nikon F2 or a Canon F1.

Body and lens picked up from KEH back in December. Fifteen years shooting film and, oddly enough, this is my first manual focus 35mm camera. Started out on a Minolta AF SLR and eventually graduated to a Contax G and Hassy 500C combo.
