What's your latest new old camera ? (Part 2)

As much as I would like to blame Donald Qualls for this purchase, I know I must take ultimate responsibility.

After disassembling the optics and cleaning them, lightly swabbing the shutter blades with naptha and alcohol, re-greasing the helicoid and generally cleaning it up, this camera is fully functional. Even managed to wind up with the original case, although it has seen better days.

This is the "Type 1", earliest model and I really like it so far.

I finally shot a test roll on the Bessa. Here's one of the pictures. I think the lens is aligned correctly.

I have recently acquired this either homemade or prototype 35mm camera. I don't know much about it. It has no makers name however on the dial around the lens it has the letter BS or SB, SOM Berthiot maybe? An unusual and somewhat puzzling camera. I have several other cameras including medium format but mainly 35mm.

That IS an interesting camera! I see it's a roll film camera, but do you know what film gauge it takes?

I will try and take a picture and post it, it has a roll of 35mm film, but 2 canisters one either side.

My latest is an F3 with an HP prism. I've sort of wanted one for many years and recently gave in to the urge when I came across one in great shape at a good price. I have several F and F2 cameras and wanted an F3 ever since they came out. I also have a number of Nikkor lenses so I will be able to put this one to quick use.

Picked up a Rolleiflex SL35E at a garage sale not working. Figured I coulf sell the 50mm 1.8 Planar for several times that. Put in a new battery($20) and all the bells and whistles started. looks like a partial roll of film in it, will take the rest and get it developed and go from there. Was thinking of purchasing more lenses but most sellers are overseas and want more for shipping than lens. Any 3rd party lenses for this camera?

Not a new purchase, but a new "restoration" of sorts.

This Pre-Anniversary Speed Graphic came as a basket case with several other cameras and I reluctantly took it as part of the deal. The photographer that owned this supposedly was a Red Socks Official Photographer, but there's no real proof of this.

The bellows were rotten, leather had fallen off the front and back, ground glass missing, the rangefinder was inoperative and it was generally filthy.

I did a bare minimum restoration yesterday after my new bellows arrived. Installed the bellows, glued the leather back on, disassembled the rangefinder, cleaned it and reinstalled it (not calibrated yet), repainted (badly) the lens board and cleaned the viewfinder on top of the camera. Thankfully, the focal plane shutter still works great; that's what saved it from the scrap heap.

It's really still ratty looking, but it should be light-tight. This thing has seen a ton of use and I didn't want to erase that history...

I initially mistook the camera for an Anniversary Model and ordered the wrong ground glass, so I will have to order the proper one soon, but that's about all it needs now to be functional.

The lens and shutter work fine after a quick and basic cleaning; all speeds sound good and the glass is clear.

I just added an Olympus 35RD, this rounds out the 35SP and 35RC I already have. I need to print a lens cap for it. I also need to clean the aperture and shutter blades as well as new light seals. The camera is in very good cosmetic condition. looking forward to getting this one ready to go. The SP and RD also needed some work to get going, but they both now work fine.

Most recent purchase was a Zeiss Ikon Baby Box Tengor.
I like how it has:
Its own little leather case, with a neck strap
Place for mounting on it a tripod, horizontal or vertical
A spot for a cable release

Pecoflex Adapter on Maikiflex Automatic Body, Makiflex Cable Release restored and now functional, a smooth releasing cable mechanism. Shown with 270mm Schneider Tele-Xenar, a short telephoto design perfect for 6.5x9cm with small movements. This was not an expensive lens and I am looking forward to using it more on the Plaubels. I used Military Grade Electrical Tape to strengthen the base of the cable. Most I have seen on the Internet are similarly damaged and repaired!

A ZI Super Ikonta A in beautiful condition except, as expected, the Albada viewfinder outlines has vanished, and the red window was translucent but not transparent. After attempting to improve red window, it suddenly occurred to me that in the early 1970s the film back for my Hassy 1000F had no red window for establishing 1st frame. So I cut a small hole in red window. Window also has a sliding door that covers red window. Shall develop roll tomorrow to see how it turns out.

My most recently arrived camera is a Minolta X-700. It was described as untested. I already had many X-700s. My interest in it was the attached Vivitar 55mm f/2.8 Macro. I already had plenty of those too but the price seemed right. The lens is an MD version and in perfect condition. I changed the batteries and the camera is working too. I may just send it out for new seals. The newest X-700s were made in about 2000. My overhauled X-700s all have new capacitors.

For the last couple of years I have been looking for a Contax RTS III, always too pricy or not in good shape. I finally picked one up and also a Zeiss 85mm F2.8 lens ( separate sellers ). I actually bought the lens first thinking I would put it on my Yashica FX3, but like a day later I found the RTS. I put a roll of XX through it, just hung them to dry, but they look good. Tried Av and Tv modes. One thing I noticed that I'm not sure my other cameras do ( they very well might ), is in Tv mode, if the shutter speed is too fast for the lighting conditions, it will use the fastest shutter speed that will give the right exposure. For some reason I have it in my head my other cameras just bark at you ( Canon, Nikon, Minolta ).

Anyway, it's a welcome addition to my collection.

I was just gifted an old funky camera bag. Apparently, my co-worker and I had talked about it quite a while ago. (He has a storage unit with misc 2nd job supplies and personal crap) He says he's been moving it around in his unit for a few years and didn't know anything about it and has no interest in photography.
The bag contained: A Minolta SRT-202 body, a MC Minolta Celtic 35mm f2.8, a MC Rokkor-X pf 50mm f1.7, A Sears auto 28mm f2.8 (made in Korea), a mc zoom Minolta Celtic 100-200 f5.6, another Sears zoom 60-300mm f4-5.6 (made in korea), a Minolta md-zoom (Japan) 28-70mm f3.5-4.8, a flash, some documentation and some filters.
Everything seems in decent shape. I haven't pulled the battery cover yet. It's definitely dead. Since my 2 Mamiya 6mf bodies are both dead this at least gets me into roll film again.
And it was free, although I think I may kick my guy a bit of cash or at least buy him a decent lunch next week. Old camera gear always has a distinct smell.

Bringing this one back to life. Just needs a little TLC on the bellows then I'll shoot some paper negatives on it. Will get some 116 to 120 film adapters at some point.

Just received a Yashica FX-3 with a 50/2 lens. Nice camera in great condition - but what was I thinking!
Need to be selling not buying!
