A near mint Nikon F5. From Japan to Michigan in 3 days!

I bought an F100 when they first came out because I couldn't afford the F5...couldn't really afford the F100 back then either but I got one anyway. So now I finally have it and it's even more beautiful in person than in pictures. Dare I say "sexy"! The only downside is that the AF ON button on the grip is missing, but for the price it's a small inconvenience. Anyone know of a "fix" or where a button can be had?

So now I have the F, F2A, F3, F4S, F5 and I still have the F100.

I picked up a Nikon N80 body for $10 at my local camera shop because it is tacky. I tried cleaning the tackiness with Goo-Gone and with coconut oil, to no avail. I'll just let it get dirty, which the tack will hold onto.

I love the camera. It is logically laid- out and not as dumbed-down as my Rebel is. (but also not as light)

It will make a nice compliment to my N90s, I think.

I picked up a Tamron 28-300 aspherical ED lens with it for $95. It's my first all-in-one zoom. I look forward to seeing the scans from it tonight. How bad is it?! We'll see. I shot Ilford HP5+ @ 1600 to make up for the cloudy day and f/6.3 maximum aperture at the long end.

I am 60, and still cary a F2 or F-1 New without trouble.
But i am getting older and not younger.....so I have a Oly OM1n and a Nikon Fm2n waiting in the wings.
I just bought one of those 80's for my wife. I believe it is N80 in the usa.?

The important thing is, you are still in The Game.!

Yes, the F80 is a N80 (and vice versa). The only difference is the alphabets.

I've been on sort of a buying spree. Minolta Maxuum 9 and a Pentax K-20(my old one is at the bottom of the Suspquehanna River) I loved the ergonomics on the 20, and even though I have newer cameras, I found one at a very reasonable price. Just now ordered a Minolta Maxuum 7 from Roberts Camera, so I know it'll work. I think that's about it for the Minolta line anyway; SRT201, X-370, XD-11, 7xi, 9xi and now these should hold me..

Still not at my place, but looks promising: Leidolf Lordomat. Will run some rolls through it with no delays as it's supposed to be as well working as it is looking.

Found this Ricoh Caddy recently and will finally take it out and shoot it. 1/2 frame with a meter but can be shot fully manual. Supposed to be a nice lens. My first 1/2 frame camera ever.

Nice score on the Ricoh half frame. For the last 50 years I’ve never been without a 35mm half frame. Mine have all been Olympus but always interested to see results from other makers.

Just got an Auto 110 on the doorstep this afternoon. Needed some batteries and a slight cleanup from exploded batteries and it seems to be clicking just fine. It came witha bonus 1.7x teleconverter. I takes getting used to, you need to slowly depress shutter to activate meter otherwise it just defaults to a default speed and doesn't do anything. Gonna run some film through it this weekend and see if it's worth the hassle.

I’m on a busch pressman d buying spree, have the 3rd kit on the way, this one has a kalart rangefinder. Will now have one completely stripped for field use, and another built for handheld use. I will use the same caltar ii-n 150 5.6 lens on both. This also leaves me with a spare body, minus a few external parts, But also leaves me will a few things to sell also.

compared to the acra swiss model b, the busch fits my style and use better.

I have a PRISTINE f5 also that is missing the grip af-on button, not much an issue for me as I only use manual focus.

The missing button is no big deal but would be nice to have. On my other AF cameras that allow it I prefer back button focusing if I decide to use AF but I also use manual focus lenses as well. Sometimes AF is a godsend.

I actually purchased this Pentax MX body last year from KEH in as-is condition but I'm counting it as new because I just got done replacing the rotted foam (including the blocks of foam around the pentaprism and rewind knob) and generally tidying things up. Small black plastic insert on the shutter release lock was missing, so I replaced with a piece of bamboo, haven't decided how, or if, I should finish that.

Nice find. Had you not mentioned it I likely wouldn't have noticed the insert. Personally your repair is not something I would change. It ads character and reveals a bit of its history and says something about its current owner that it's still being taken care of. .

I got this Canon Autoboy Zoom Date (aka Sure Shot Zoom and Prima Zoom) a few days ago. Shot my roll of Fuji 400 to test the camera out and have sent them to get developed and scanned -- so just waiting in anticipation how they come out. I haven't been able to dig out a lot of information about this camera aside from the basic stuff you can read in the Canon Camera Museum (https://global.canon/en/c-museum/product/film125.html). I guess the different regional names doesn't help. Anybody familiar with this camera?

I got my grandpa's Yashica Electro 35 GS back from CLA last week. I didn't realize how much I'd miss it. The shutter is SO quiet, compared to the SLRs I generally prefer. People see me lift it up, but don't hear a mirror slap, so they don't think much about it. (big metal cameras are SUPPOSED to have a mirror slap, right?! ;-) )

I'll finish the test roll this week. (HP5+ @ 800) I shot a bunch of candids of the kids.

Still waiting on the Electro 35 CC from Mark Hama. He says a part is broken, and he doesn't have one. I think he's waiting for a cheap donor to come up on FeeBay.

Nikon F5. Incredibly dirty, with battery chamber full of corrosion, smelling like an ashtray and exhibiting a constant film load error. Took a few hours, and I had to peel back some rubber in select places around the battery compartment, but I dug out all the battery corrosion, cleaned the MB-30 with baking soda and DeOxit, rubbed a bit of Flitz metal polish on the internal contacts to restore full battery function. With some Iso Alcohol, a syringe and some patience, I cleared the film loading error, so the film sprocket now turns freely, whereas it was stuck before. Windex and ArmorAll restored the rubber and removed most of the ashtray smell. Otherwise, lots of cotton buds and various cleaners performed their duties on the body, prism, mirror and focus screen to bring this beast back to life. Lots of brassing, but I'll live with that.

I now have all the Pro F Series but the F6, which I won't be finding for bargain prices anytime soon...

Got a Canon a1 from my local camera repair shop, he had CLA'd it, bit untidy due I think to some heavy pro use, but it performs fine, and it came with the Canon 1.7 50mm lens, bit of paint loss, but I don't ind yhat as long as it works fine, and it adds a bit of Character to the camera

delivered today. a nikkor 135mm f3.5 lens for my s2a. real cheap but also very dirty.blades are clean .glass cleaned up great with very little dust.i now have a 50mm , 75mm ,and a 135mm.on to a 150mm next , in due time.

I picked up an Olympus 35 RC at the camera show yesterday for $75. All seems well with it. I shot a test roll yesterday. Need to check that the battery isn't starting to leak and also confirm accuracy of the auto exposure.

I have a Yashica Electro 35 GS, which has the faster lens and better shutter, but the only manual controls are focus and film speed. I also tried the Trip 35 craze; while it has a great lens, that is one highly overrated camera, these days. I especially disliked the high-effort film advance thumb wheel.

The 35 RC added full manual capability and shutter priority instead of aperture priority.

The Olympus Quickmatic was a gift from my youngest daughter who shoots film with a Olympus Zoom camera. It's an EES that shoots 126 film which is getting harder to find "fresher" film. First cartridge no images. Second one with a vintage of 1996 was much better. A little color cast but at least I know the meter works and the lens is plenty sharp.

The Olympus Pen EES-2 is my second 1/2 frame camera. If the lens is anything like the Ricoh Caddy I posted above I'm gonna have blast shooting this one. I really like the way it looks and it's so tiny.

A Paillard-Bolex C8SL in need of a thorough overhaul. BTL metering system works. It came with one of the latest Berthiot Lytar. A roll of Kodachrome II was loaded, expiry date on the cardboard box is JULY 1974. Dreaming of Ektachrome in Double-Eight . . .
