Just adds to the character!

Weirdly Pentax went through a phase of putting a fake brass coating under the black paint on plastic top plates (the Super A and related bodies had this). When the black wore you got "brassing" as you would with the earlier all-metal bodies, presumably so it would match the baseplates which were still brass.

This Rank Mamiya, which is a 35mm Rangefinder, I think a rebadged 4B model from around 1963. Cost me a tenner (of the Queen's Sterling!) from the Disabled Photographers Society (I think?) stand at the UK's Photo Show last week. First roll of film going through it now. I quite fancied it because it's a rangefinder. It has a fixed 40mm 2.8 lens. It took me a while to find the setting on the bottom of the lens where you set the ISO setting, although it makes no difference because the meter doesn't work anyway.

The "digital me" really coveted a Leica M but having picked up and handled one for the first time at that show I've kind of gone off them. Nice enough, too expensive. So this little Mamiya is scratching my RF itch. Looking forward to seeing what results I get.

The strap is from "Footprint", who are a UK maker with very similar products to Gordys.

At an estate sales yesterday I got a Canon AE-1, Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 plus the Canon 177A flash for $20. They all in perfect condition. Having the AE-1 confirms why I never wanted one except when the price is almost free.

I'd say it's about time for a part II to this thread-it's gettin' long.

I got the flash to work on the Zenit C, had to clean up the plug-in a bit. Everything works on it, just finished second roll. Will post a print soon. J.

Picked up a canon af35 ml today for half off 3.99 at Goodwill. In working condition and just changed the light seals out. Nice fast 40/1.9 on there. Also picked up an oly trip 50. 2.99 but just realized it has a fixed aperture of f5.6 (not a deal breaker) and fixed shutter speed of 1/100. May just pass it along. In like new condition with carrying pouch. Got it because of the 28mm focal length. Wanted it to be a hiking companion.

A Nikon FG-20.
The fg-20 is a real joy to use. Small, lightweight, just the right feature set (for me), nice finder and paired with a 50/1.8 series e lens, a compact combo that takes nice images.

Picked up an AE-1 program today with leather case. Just couldn't pass it up. Came with the 50/1.8. That makes about 5 or more of those fd50/1.8's that I have. Need to unload a few.

Leica Z2X. I swear I can quit buying these little P&S cameras anytime I want... Oooh! Look at that Stylus Epic!

It arrived yesterday. Everything looks good except the light seals. Gonna load it up with some E6 for a test roll this weekend.

Bought a Minox IIIs from a friend, which jammed a few hours later. So, I bought another IIIs which does work. First one I intend to get repaired.

Also bought a near-mint Canon EF (the "Black Beauty"). These are awesome! Gotta thank Benjiboy for making me aware this model even existed.

This past weekend I fed my GAS with a Petri 7. I'm anxious to try out the f1.9 45mm lens on this little 35mm rangefinder with color film.

A Topcon RE 200 is on its way. I didn't really want the camera but I wanted the lens which is on it for use on an Topcon RE Super. The lens is a 55/1.7 which is marked Topcor but which is supposed to have been made by Cima Kogaku, maker of Cimko lenses. The older 58/1.8 and 58/1.4 lenses are either not still in good condition or go for very high prices. The later 50/1.8 and 50/1.4 GN lenses are also either not in great condition or expensive. I hope I will come to like the non-GN 55/1.7. For now I have a 35/2.5 Vivitar attached to the RE Super with a T4 adapter. I also have two Tamron adapters for Topcon so I have plenty of lenses which will fit for now. Eventually I will look for some RE Topcors but for now I am having fun using the Re Super.
