Not a bargain but an interesting find in a charity shop - an Argus C3 1950 - 54 with a used film inside labelled "made in USA" (I'm in the UK). Not an especially old film, as it has DX coding, but it's only 12 exp so maybe not that modern. Must get the film developed!

Totally manual Nikormat FT-3 Tank

I bought this for $20 at antique shop just because all the different manual shutter speeds worked
and it had a nice Nikor 28mm AIS lens. This thing must have gears and wheels spinning around
inside from the sound it makes when you select from 1 second all the way to 1 /1000th of a second.

I have not put a battery into it yet to see if the meter works but the mechanics of the shutter
totally blows me away. I could see myself purchasing a separate light meter and using
this camera totally manually if I find that I can buy film and have it developed for a reasonable
cost. This camera should function for at least another hundred years. It seems like a tank
and is very heavy giving a very rugged impression.

Olympus XA3 in as-new condition. Picked up for £12 off eBay. Running a test roll of £1 AGFA 400 through it to make sure it's firing okay. Love the feel in the hand and how portable the little guy is. A very clever bit of kit.

Just got my Pentax KX bought from a fellow member. Its in beautiful shape, just a few rubs on the base plate, works perfectly and has been CLA'd by Eric, who is the Pentax go-to guy. What a pleasure to use a mechanical shutter, as preventec47 noted. All the lovely mechanical sounds.......

And this beauty, with viewfinder call out of shutter speed, judas window for aperture, DOF preview and mirror lockup (and meter switch and battery check button_ was cheaper than the typical K 1000, because of the demand for that camera for courses. Ah, well.....

My newest Minolta. . .

is an X 700, given to me by an acquaintence. My first Minolta had been a SRT 101--she was very sweet, unfortunately, a casualty of meeting up & living with a jerk!

Not 35 mm, but Picked up a (what appears) to be a fully working Yashica-Mat EM for around 10 bucks.

The moderately rare black version of the Canon AV-1, in excellent condition and squeak free (!), but I had to fit new seals.

I just found a Olympus Trip 35 at a nearby flea market that works and it's only problems are a little ding and need of new light seals. I am not sure what year it is but I look forward to using it.

In like new condition, but needs new light seals. Can't wait to put a roll in it to try it out.

I went to an estate sale of photographer friend that was being run by his niece. She had got tired of trying to sell his film equipment in this digital age and just wanted to get it out of her house. She is a manager of one of our camera stores so she knows what stuff is worth in other markets. She wasn't interested in the online auction. Anyways she held out and got really good prices for his Leicas and Hasselblads but the 35mm stuff was cheap. I got a Nikon F2 black body with a Nikon DP-1 Finder and a Nikkor S F1.8/50mm for $55, a Nikon F2A chrome body with a Nikon DP-11 Finder for $50 and for free a Nikon F2 chrome body with a Nikon DE-1 Finder (has a slight bind in the advance mechanism but moves the film the proper length), a Nikon FM body with a non-functioning meter and a functioning Nikon F801 body. Also bought a couple of really cool art deco styled folding cameras for the collection. I also bought a Linhoff Schneider-Krueznach Angulon f6.8 90mm lens with a Prontor-S shutter for my 4X5 for $5. So I've been busy shooting film and getting to know the F2's. These are the one's I will probably use the most.
