I just picked up a Sears KSX-P. I'm pretty impressed with it. I'm used to the post-Walmart world where a store-branded product is cheap crap. This looks like Sears had some pride in their photographic offerings. Looking over the owner manual, I think the Sears was actually nicer than the Chinon CP-5 it was rebranded from. The Chinon's markings aren't as intuitive as the Sear's ("L" vs "Off" - I know which one is more obvious to me).

I also got a Ricoh 50mm F2 lens. Plastic body, but good damping and darned near pancake depth. So far it seems like a fun little camera.

The 50mm f2.0 that came with my Sears body is probably a Ricoh lens as well. Might even be the same lens. The mechanical parts are in like-new shape. Everything moves and functions as it should. Just need to wait for some film to return to check everything else. I'm quite impressed the the feel of this camera and the quality as well. Every bit as nice as any of my Nikon EMs.

The mailman was my best friend yesterday! This camera was saved from the trash, litterally! Nothing wrong with it! A friend of mine is a personal chef for a very wealthy family, he spotted this along with a Leitz/Braun 340 VarioZoom flash in the trash waiting for the housemen to take out. Everything works so far! Just need to run a roll through it to test it out.

I also got a Yashica-Mat 124G from a fellow member here, but that's for a different subforum.

Bought an Olympus OM-1n last month. I'm trying the recommended battery fix (O-ring and 1.4 volt Z/A cell). So far, I'm loving it!

With best regards,

Pic of the F3P, which arrived today:

The F:

^I'll keep you in mind. I'm currently looking at another F that's from mid-'73 and may grab that one.

Re: the F that I was looking at. Did get it. Is currently at the Redmond, WA Uniformed Parcel Smashers facility, waiting to be delivered tomorrow.

Chrome F FTn "Apollo", serial number 74479xx.

Ricoh KR-10. My Ricoh XR-7 started to act up so bought a replacement. More practical than any of my Pentaxen.

Well, the F arrived. It needs some attention. Previous owner seemed not to believe in keeping stuff clean. Cleaned off a layer of gunk under the finder and around the A-R ring on the shutter release. Still have to clean the gunk that's on the depth-of-field preview button surround and on the lens release button surround. Finder is missing a couple screws, so the meter portion can flip forward a little bit. Also had two corroded PX625A's in it, however was active.

does a Canon 1V count ..?

Well, that's mine anyway

combines the best of the 1N and 3: mucho AF points, hair trigger (both better tha the 1N) not so much height as the 3, little more balanced than the 3, 100% viewfinder (unlike the 3).

My current film arsenal. Three bodies are recent, the fourth I've had for a while.

The next body, which is one I owned in 2007, and 2008-09. Friend of mine doesn't want it anymore, so it's coming back home within the next month. The 200/4 won't be, since I have no idea where it is now.

oh oh oh oh oh: I am in love

With a triple-named black Honeywell Heiland Pentax H2... the first shutter curtain is wrinkled, but the sexy beast is as smooth as butter.......

Ohhhhhh........

A handsome family you have there, John. If you should ever grow tired of Ms F3P and find yourself yearning for an F3HP/MD4-MK1 combo or say an F2A/MD2-MB1combo...well, you know who to pm (just sayin...). LOL

rofl, don't think that'll be happening, Bradley...

BTW: you see the link that I tagged you in on FB? Overseas, but fairly clean, and reasonably cheap.

Thanks so much for the link John. Price is right, but I am holding out for something more along the lines of your recent family addition. Having recently been afflicted with something of a crisis of conscience over the size of my Nikon family (I added a pair of black F2 bodies this past week - both with DE1s), I may also expand the hunt by looking for trade opportunities (I am considering parting ways with an F2A, F3HP/MD4-MK1 or possibly an F5 body (I have three) if the right F3P happens along). I have reached a point where it is becoming a bit of a pain trying to keep track of equipment rotations! i.e. I think I might own too much! LOL

Bradley, sell the F2A and the F3HP. Buy the F3P that's on eBay, which isn't much worse than mine - add the rubber gasket, and it's almost the same condition-wise to mine, except for some minor spots of missing paint on the prism, etc - then swap your MD-4/MK-1 combo onto said F3P. I'm beginning to think that it may be a while before KEH gets another body like mine.

Heck, I might be interested in buying the MD-2/MB-1 if it has a serial in the 43xxxx range or below. I suspect that with the sale of those two bodies, plus the motor drive, you'll have more than enough to cover the purchase of that P body.

Re: the F2's... Those weren't the ones being sold for $150 or so on evilBay, were they?

John:

One of the F2/DE-1 bodies was a private purchase locally; a second DE-1 finder was also private from a fellow APUGer. Only the second, and most recent purchase (Tuesday, past) came from e**y (a $43.00 USD winning bid for a 79xxxxx black body that looks to be about a 7 or so, judging from pics...). BTW: 1). If you want a AH-3 (gratis) for Ms F3P, I have one kicking around; and 2). Do you know of anyone in your area needing a partially disassembled F2 body (and a bag-o-parts from same)? I recall you mentioning that one of our Washington State APUGers liked fixer-uppers (an alternative, of course, would be to donate the carcass to the "Save Sover fund" when I send in a couple of the F2s for CLAs).

Someone gave me a Rolleiflex SL35 yesterday. The camera looks to be no great shakes but it has that Planar 1.8/50 lens so I am going to shoot it tomorrow.

Bradley, thanks, but will be sourcing another MK-1 to replace the one I sold to PhotoJim in '06.

Re: the parts F2, PM Ralph Javins. He'll take it. I need to send my F2 to Sover for a service. 1 second is a little fast.
