At work (a high-tech company), security will no longer allow obvious cameras; anyone seen with a camera (35mm compact or otherwise) will be reported. It could be a firing offense. Cell phones, almost all of which have cameras, attract no attention as long as it's not obviously being used for photos.

In earlier days, I'd either have a Pentax SP500 w/50 f/2 or Canon AE-1P w/35-200 Tokina ATX. Later, a Ricoh GR-1.

Outside of work, I rotate through my collection.

Mood-dependent, I alternate between two: a recently "Soverized" F2AS w/50mm F1.2 Ais Nikkor or an F3HP w/28mm F2 Ais Nikkor. Either will be loaded with E100G. As well, if I happen to be driving anywhere, there is always an M6 w/ a 50mm 'Cron (loaded with HP5+/Tri-X) in the console... (excepting, of course, during hot spells - 30C+ days...).

I still haven't found one that I want to stick with.

I started out with my Miranda Sensorex and 28 f/2.8. It was a bit of a chore trying to shoot EVERYTHING manually. So I moved to a Canon A-1 with 50 f/1.4. That was fine for me until I got into medium format.

Since then, I've switched from Mamiya C33 to Mamiya RZ67 (very poor choice for a walkaround system), and now I'm currently shooting with a Bronica ETR. It's still a bit too big and hard to shoot in portrait, so I've been contemplating going back to 35mm, and getting an aperture priority model Voigtlander Bessa R-something.

The one that goes in my pocket when I don't have any special plans is an Olympus XA.

Meet "Chip"

My everyday camera is one of my Minolta X700s specifically assigned to that duty; its all banged and dinged, a couple of gouges and pretty sad looking. I call it "Chip" because of is physical condition. But, works like a charm and as reliable as a trooper. Running chores, bicycling, or just hanging out, Chip is ready to serve. Usually I have the 35-70 attached, but sometimes just a normal lens. Always Tri-X. Extremely shortened strap so I have something to grab onto, but never in the way. Bottom half case cover for whatever minimal protection it provides.

Pentax KX with 50mm f/1.4, or Leica M2 with 35mm Nokton, for the most part.
But I might bring the Canon EOS-3, usually with the 85mm f/1.8, or I might even bring my Hasselblad, usually with the 80mm lens.

Was my Mamiya 6, now ????

Loaded some bulk Fomapan 100 in my OM-4, gonna give it a go as my walk about camera. It's not as convenient as my missing folder, but a danged capable shooter.

Depends on the day.

Most of the last two months, it's been a Pentax KX with 50mm/1.7 or a Pentax MX with 43mm/1.9.

Olympus Pen. Either an early VF model with full manual control (adverse to the EE models). Or, if I want a little more capability a Pen F with a 25 f4 attached and the 38 f1.8 and 100 f3.5 in a cargo pocket.

Amazing that this is in the medium format category but almost all cameras cited are a smaller format.

35mm just is easier to carry everyday!

Depends, if I'm feeling like a control freak, my Retina lla, if not, Olympus XA2.

I have been keeping my dad's old pentax P30 in the car but scanning 35mm is a pain. A freind just gave me a plastic Lubitel 2. The more I play with it the more I like it. I might drop it in the glove box for a while.

Changes daily. Today I didn't bring anything. But I'll typically grab one of my Rollei 35/35S, Minolta HiMatic 7SII, or Rollei Nano 80 (APS Film). For the longest time I was carrying my Canon 50D, but that was too big and bulky. Sometimes I'll carry 2, one with color, one with B&W.

It's a mood thing.

It varies, but usually a Leica M4-P with 35mm Summicron. For MF, my old Rolleiflex Automat.
