I know, but neither camera has the quality of the SX-70. It would be nice to use their new non-battery film in the older SX-70s..
It would be, but would likely require a cheap plastic add on part which would ruin the lines and appearance of the sx-70. What would be nice for the sx-70 though would be to have a light meter alteration done so it can use 600 iso film rather than the 100 iso stuff. 100 iso is awfully limiting to shoot with when you're shooting an instant camera.

I removed the filter that covers the electric eye of the SX-70, done by prying the rim off. That gives you one stop, then set the L/D control 1 stop towards darken. Use an olf film cover to shoehorn the 600 film pack over the fingers used to key the film to get the pack in.

MINT, in Hong Kong, can upgrade an SX-70 to use 600-series film.

I'm betting most camera repair centers could offer that service. The mint cameras look beautiful though, don't they? That and offering full manual control really makes the sx70 a nice camera.

I was under the impression that all the new IP Polaroid branded films were the same formula

Remember that SX-70 films are ISO 125 and 600-series (and Spectra) have an ISO of 600. Different formulas for different film speed.

Only the new 600-series color film is brand new. All of the others are carryovers, at least for now.

I’ve suggested more than once that only the 600-series Polaroid Original color film is all new. I’m happy to say I was wrong. I asked Polaroid directly about the new films, and ALL of the just-released Polaroid Original color films are new. This includes SX-70 and Spectra. I'm glad to be wrong on this one.

I took a chance and ordered a pack of SX70 color and was actually a bit surprised at how much I liked the vividness of it compared to a pack of Impossible branded film I ordered just last month.

well, based on that I've ordered some more film. I've heard from several sources that it's a considerable improvement.

I hope fading issues have been addressed as well, although I have seen very little fading myself.

How long would you say it took to get... 90% developed?
That looks good to me, if it doesn't have fading problems the look is good.

It was about 20 minutes or so. I didn't use a tongue and the print was momentarily exposed before being put in a shirt pocket to develop fully.

Whoa. Much better.

Nice to see they may be finally equaling what TimeZero was like at the end. (well, except for the ability to manipulate the print, which was really the only thing that made SX70 unique...) I may have to give it a try.
