As the fault shows up at both directions and is even stronger laterally, the cover may have shrunken. What is not good either though.
Is it real leather?That's how it was when I first applied it, it did not shrink later. So either it was not made correctly, or it shrank after they made it and before I received it.
My first purchase from cameraleather a few years earlier for an M3 fit perfectly, so it seems things have changed in the interim.

IIRC Morgan uses steel rule dies and a clicker rather than laser-cutting his materials.
Either way, material shrinkage seems the obvious cause of the ill-fitting Leica covering.
If the reason is shrinkage, it doesn't matter which cutting method was used.The reason doesn't matter. The leather did not fit.
Aki-Asahi uses die cutting, and their stuff is always perfect
