So what's everyone up to photographically these days? The Irish corner of apug seems to have gone very quiet lately.

Hi Peter, yes things have been quite around here for a while, hopefully it's because people are out and about taking photos. I had a go at lumen printing myself using old paper that I had lying around. I am very pleased with the results but I feel that I'm unable to show them here, because they come into their own when I adjusted the levels in PSP after scanning. You can see some examples of my effords on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/33090198@N02/
I've submitted some prints to the FADU exhibition for September. I used the ART 300 paper to print some of the shots and I'm really excited with it. I'm looking forward to our print showing when it's arranged. I see Sergey is making quite an impression on the Gallery with his Croke Patrick shots.
Your workshop in the Burren was announced at the DCC meeting last week, hope you get a few takers from it.

It would be nice to hear from other people just to know that they are still around.

You were right about that exhibition 'Out of the Dark Room' at the IMMA. I found the work stunning and as you said it is a must to go visit and it is open until early October.

Same old-same old at my home. My 19yo daughter started at Penn State this week so life is hectic. My 13yo decided to go back to public school, no more home schooling from "the old man". I won't have a photo buddy now, life is going to be very different without my kids to keep me company. Guess I'll have more time for my personal projects. Both girls are good photogs and are skilled darkroom workers, I'll have the darkroom to myself.

I haven't shot much film this summer or made many prints. I was flat out getting extra prints made for the DCC night last May but since then I've done very little. Once I get the Burren weekend over with next month, I'll get back to making prints. Had a few enquiries from the club and hope to have it sold out soon. I have some of the new ART 300 paper and look forward to trying it out.

Hi guys, I've a mixed bag to report, I've taken quite a lot and processed very little, if you're planning a print showing I should have a few ready for it, doing a lot of travelling and enjoying taking images which is good, hope to see everyone soon.

Vincent, The lumen shots are beautiful. I've not heard of this before so look forward to hearing about it. July/August quiet for me. Got a lot of colour film processed. I have an exhibition in the gallery at Baldoyle starting today for a week.

Let us know which gallery. I'll be passing that way tomorrow, will it be open?

Lovely shots, Vincent! I'd love to see them printed - perhaps you could bring them to our next meeting?

I've shot a few MF negs in Kerry last week, and I hope to have them processed next month. I am also going to my favourite canyons and deserts in the 3rd week of Sept - I hope to take more shots of Canyon X, but I am not sure I can manage to get everything organised. Fingers crossed!

Other than that, I am preparing for a printing workshop that I will attend in California in November, so I expect a few good printing sessions before then to catch up with all the requirements. I am very excited about that!

I have been busy printing for Peoples Photography, did a batch of 7*7 inch prints, about 40 in total so that took up much of July and August. I have also done some prints on the new Ilford art paper. A little unsure at the moment what direction to take with the photography and printing, undecided on size and paper to use, I liked the Ilford Warmtone I used for PP. I might even go back and do some 35mm for a change. I have a backlog of negatives to print which I hope to complete before Christmas. Look forward to a meet up some time soon. Met Paul and Martin at PP.

I've been busy enough :

1. Repairing damage to my home/darkroom down the country caused by a burst pipe over the winter.

2. I actually got to make a few prints two weeks ago but had to bang them into frames and gave them away as a wedding present to a friend of mine. However it was great to get back into the darkroom again.

3. In the meantime I've been shooting a lot of pinhole 5x4 over the last 3-4 months and scanning them onto flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/seoirseosial/

In fact I have just a few minutes ago processed 4 more 5x4 sheets of pinhole negs and 2 rolls of 6x6 zone plate negs. So, plenty of images to choose from. :D

4. Oh, and I almost forgot... I managed to pick up a very nice Calumet 402 5x4 camera (which I have yet to get a lens for) and I'm itching to get out and take some images with it ! The 402 is the wide angle version of the Calumet series and has a very flexible bellows so I can use a wide angle lens without the need for a recessed board.

I'm looking forward to the Winter and meeting up for some shoots and a print showing.

Yes it has been very quite here in the Irish section of Apug, was wondering if yee all went digital

Have taken pictures this year but not as many as previous years. 2011 has been a crap year for me, one I would like to forget about, problems with work, my health and then with my mum.... On a positive I did shoot i think three roles of Kodak HIE though which was great, still have a few more in the freezer to get through which I am looking forward to

Have been getting into the darkroom but have only turned out a few decent prints that I am happy with. On two weeks holidays from work at the moment so hoping to try to get back into taking pictures with a trip to Paris planned Wednesday Week

Looking forward to the next meet up to take some pics or show some prints...
