Also backs of heads reference #131

As the purveyor of #131, I will point out that the back of the blue haired woman was a main point of picture (as compared to the lavender/pink of the tree she is walking under and the colors of the girls outfits and the tattoo of the other woman- part of the reason the pic is in full living color). Color is often not used in street photography, but this is one of those images (IMO) that screams for color.

I'm late to respond to this, but it's obvious quite a bit was captured and preserved for all time. These are moments of artist life, I do not know and can not wrap my mind around how you can not see this or understand the basic concept.

That's a rather expansive definition of the moment, don't you think? Take the first image. I see shapes, form and color, I don't see any moments of an artists life. Not with my eyes anyway. Where was he/she? Was he inside? Was he outside? Was he standing, sitting, riding a jetski? Was he young, old, straight, gay, bi? There is no real information about the artist here (we can imagine things), and no information about time. We can assume the artist experienced a moment when this image came into existence, but without more information even that's a stretch to consider it as the moment captured.

In the third one, the depicted moment never existed, so it can't have been captured.

I never tire of pictures depicting women in trees.

What's the point of street photography? I mean, most of the street shots I see are of some gnarly old Asian dude missing a couple teeth, or a guy in an apron standing behind a counter full of smelly fish. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing many of these images but I don't know what it is that draws me to them. Why do we like this genre and what is it about this genre that makes it a credible art form?
because everybody wants to be the next HCB.

***That's a rather expansive definition of the moment, don't you think?*** Absolutely not, that's exactly what it is.
