Yep! Will load up assorted boxes and cans tomorrow. I still haven't decided where I'm going.... I like to use WPPD as an excuse to go somewhere fun.
Maybe Fort Ross, which also involves a beautiful drive up the coast. Weather is supposed to be sunny....

My original idea was to try make an 8x10 macro pinhole of a honey bee's face but life has been too busy lately to find time to work on a camera for that. Maybe next year.

I hope everyone has fun on WPPD!

I'm not sure where I'm going to go - maybe Pittsburgh? There's a chance of rain, but they aren't always great at predicting the weather here. I'll probably use the Lensless 4x5 and I think I need to load some holders. I haven't bee doing much shooting this spring, so I'm not loaded and organized, yet.

Well, it's 7 a.m. April 30th, and I have 3 pinholes ready to go (RSS6x17, Pinhole Blender, Holga WPC), all loaded with Acros. The blender is a bit battered and bruised, so it'll be interesting to see how things turn out with that one.

Happy pinhole-ing everyone!

Too busy packing for my trip to Greece. I just added Kodak Portra 800 and Ilford Delta 3200 for low light level photography hand held. I am not taking the carbon fiber tripod this time.

I have made a camera out of a small can which perfectly fits a 4x5 sheet in landscape mode, I spraypainted the inside black and I also have a karton-backing in the can which makes the film to be easely replaced after exposure! I tested a few hours ago to make sure I knew I had the right values and I was suprisingly pleased!!

Got my 5x7 loaded for tomorrow, first time I've shot on WPPD. Can only do 1 shot and then nick back to the apartment to reload. Can probably get 3 or 4 shots in the morning and then process them in the afternoon. I'm using 5x7 RC paper so very easy to process.

HAPPY PINHOLE DAY YOU ALL!

I'll shoot my RealitySoSubtle 6x17 and Noon 6x6 today. I'll load Fuji NPC 160 (exp. 2006), an excellent film for pinhole photography.
I'll try to make an extra installment for my longterm project "handheld pinhole landscapes" all exposed for 40 seconds.

Something like these:

Blue sky all day, today. A gap in the midst of continuously bad weather, so it was fate to go pinholing today.

Shot my first ever reversal sheet film, Provia 100F. And before that I used three sheets of b/w with this pinhole. So today my life time counter for sheet film is standing at seven. Will be interesting to see if I've got the exposure right on those chromes.

Also shot a sheet of Fomapan 400. I metered 20s at E.I. 250 for the shadows (incident). With reciprocity that's 2'27. The buildings across the street were in the sun, however. Normal development time would be 11 min in Rodinal. Should I reduce that for those strong highlights?

Since I'm using an Ilford Camera Obscura I had to change each sheet in a changing bag, sitting on a park bench. A bit awkward...

Made my exposure, paper neg, looks ok except.....I cannot find my heavy piece of glass to make a contact print! Think it's already packed since we are moving in May. May just have to take a picture of it with one of those 'cameras that must not be mentioned'. Have to get it in some form that can be transmitted anyway and I think even the free picture handling software that comes with this machine can probably invert the tones and mirror reverse the image so it's correct left to right.

It was a beautiful day today, sunny with a slightly cold wind. I went to a small local stream and shot two films (Fuji NPC 160) with the RSS 6x17 and the Noon 6x6 pinhole camera. I brought my rubber boots and went into the stream itself with a small tripod:

What can be more relaxing than taking pinhole images in this environment:

It's fairly hot here today (at least for April) - in the 80s F. The little guy and I went out to Ohiopyle, but it was horrendously crowded. I used one sheet of B&W in the Lensless 4x5 at the natural slides on Meadow Run, so that may be the one I go with. If I have time while there's still light, I may use the other loaded sheet of film and do another shot, but I don't know of what. I had the idea while driving home that exposing it while going down the street might be cool, but I can't do it and drive (would be worse than texting, I think, and I don't do that). The other option is to expose while driving the mower across the yard - no idea what that would give me.

The weather kicked in nicely for the weekend, so my wife and I went down by the Bay and the local marina. I just upgraded my cigar box 5x4 camera, so we'll see what that does. It uses regular film holders, so I should have some choice of final image. I also put a roll through the tried and tested Zero Image 6x9. I just have to find a few hours to develop and print the film.

[My wife used her pinhole body cap on a totally different kind of technology. All the wild flowers gave a very Cezanne effect.]

Yesterday was a bright and sunny day, and I brought my cameras down to the Philosopher's Path, a very well-known area of Kyoto. I was worried that it would be packed with tourists, as we are now in Golden Week, and there are still some late-blooming cherry blossoms to be seen, but it actually wasn't that busy. I alternated between my three cameras, using the Pinhole Assist app on my phone - what a great tool that is! Since all three cameras had different f/stops I was worried that I would mis-calculate an exposure, but then I discovered I could just choose the camera I was using on the app and it made things much, much easier. I hope to develop my films today, although I'm little worried about the high contrast from all that sunlight. We'll see how it goes.

Spent the day at home withmy girlfriend and her sister making exposures of house items with the Titan 810. Shot Ilford Delta 100, at least that's what I think it was. It had been lingering in some unmarked holders for some time, will have to confirm once the film finishes drying. We were getting good exposures so that's what counts. We uses an old LunaPro SBC combined with Pinhole Assist & Reciprosity Timer to calculate our exposures, which worked like a charm. Anyway we all had fun and got nice images. Next weekend we'll print and then get our images uploaded to the pinhole day site. Will post here too.

Here's mine

http://pinholeday.org/gallery/2017/index.php?id=59

Only decent exposure I managed. My day proceeded as follows...

Head into town to camera clubs WPPD event but stop on the way at a previously scouted location to take a shot. Dreary old day so decide to double the exposure. Get into the club rooms and process paper to get pretty much nothing (couple of decent light leaks which prove the developer is good!). Recalc exposure and head outside to preform a test. Decided 15mins was need but change that to 18 on the fly. Develop sheet and it's jet black! No light leaks, so that's a plus. Remember that I also removed a G0 multigrade filter from behind the pinhole (used to reduce contrast) and should have been around 7 1/2 mins. Reload another sheet and head out side. Take the shot above @ 7mins, go process it, yeah... good exposure! Reload and head out to the street to find something more interesting to point the camera at. Take a shot of light railway tracks and station deciding to cut exposure time to 5.5 mins as sun struggling through the clouds. Develop it... almost black  Reload, head in different direction and take a shot of a building. Cut exposure to 4mins, process, black... geez! Last sheet, decide to go back to same building.... 2min 30 exposure... process... almost black... give up for the day!

Haven't used the Titan 8x10 for awhile, so it got a bit of exercise today. A few frames on the Holga WPC, as well. Darkroom tomorrow for development.

I did some shooting last year on WWPPD, but was not able to develop for a number of months. By then I couldn't remember which ones were shot on the day, and which were warm ups and cool downs.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's efforts.

I made 5 paper negatives today, 2 5x7s, an 8x10, an 8x11 and an 11x14. It was in the 80's here too, with bright sunshine... the brightness range was pretty extreme. We'll see, but I'm not feeling very confident of my exposure in tough lighting situations. I also made a few instant pinholaroids, and a couple of them look nice, so I'll have something even if the paper negatives are blown out.

I didn't take digisnaps of all of them, but here are 4 of the locations I tried today.

5x7 in a can. I hardly ever use a tripod with a can except on WPPD . Not nearly close enough but thought I'd try anyway:

It was a glorious day here in the Benelux region and so we participated in a "Picto" organised WPPD event with +/-30 participants, here is my effort from a home made curved back 5"x7" wooden box using Ilford MG paper.
