what waS your last photography related purchase?

it looked like they cut a lot of the front end off and the last bit left in the cassette though, looked to be at least a frame's worth of stock, if not close to two frames. i had gotten to where i could get the film loaded (with proof by the spinning rewind lever) and lose only about a frame past the tongue. still not sure im going to spend the money but that could be a great thing to travel with, along with a jug or two of one-shot chemistry (developer and fixer in the same solution)

still, pretty cool!

Looks pretty much like the one Jobo had in the past (quick search says it might be the Jobo 2400). And then there is of course the Rondinax (have one, but never used it...) and it's clones like the LabBox. I just picked up a shockingly clean wollensak 10" raptar telephoto from KEH on eBay. should make for a nice portrait lens on my field camera

You don't need to trim so much of the front end off, I don't know why they advised doing so. I only clipped a small part, so the end of the tongue was still attached. It loaded onto the reel just fine. I don't seem to have lost anything at the cassette end of the roll either. Maybe a camera with really short distance from the cassette to the film gate might lose the edge of the last frame, I don't know.

That article is a little thin on experience, though I like the concept the author started out with. It's clear they haven't used the Lab-Box like I have, because it's anything but smooth loading the film on the reel. It feels like a lot more resistance than the Lomo tank, and I frequently got a few bits where the film stuck to itself.

I'll need to use the Lomo more before i have a true verdict on it, but roll one was surprisingly easy (after watching a lot of videos).

I just hit buy on Ali Express, for a 50 sheet box of Lucky SHD 100, 8x10 film. After playing around with rolls of 120, I quite like it. Too cheap to pass up, too.

It is the "wisdom" part that seems the biggest challenge .......

I've been really enamored with the Kentmere 200 film, so I bought another brick of 120 and one in 135 to try out. And a brick of Kentmere 100 120, either to do pinhole work or to put in the Rolleiflex and use for close-up work with Rolleinar.
