A leather stitching kit, direct from China. Yes, this is photo related -- I've got a Daiichi Zenobia 6x4.5 folder that has no strap lugs on the camera, and the stitching has failed in the leather case that's the only means of carrying the camera around. Got one or two other old leather cased cameras as well, and others might find their way here at some point -- this tool set will let me repair them, as long as the leather is in good condition and it's only the thread that's gone.

I am sure you know this but avoid the traditional leather sewing needles with fragile leather cases and use thin upholstery needles or such. I tried using the large needles and it just destroys the old leather, even after treating it for an extended period of time.

Beseler 8072 AN glass negative carrier. I resisted for a long time since it's ridiculously expensive for what it is, but I think it will prove very useful for printing MF negatives.

The kit I bought has some fairly fine needles. Furthermore, this leather is in quite good condition, it's only the thread that's failed (I think it was originally cotton). I'd certainly avoid forcing anything, though.

A Ryobi P738 Inflator. I got tired of the rubber puffers, and hair dryers are just too big. If you're already in the Ryobi 18v One+ system, this should be a no-brainer. So naturally it took me several years to figure it out...

Voigtlander SW-Heliar 15mm for my M-6

50 12''x16'' sheets of ADOX VARIO CLASSIC (EFKE VARYCON).

Couldn't resist this for the price. Mint condition Tokina 500mm f/8 RMC mirror lens. Thought I'd try this one out on my Nikon film cams.

Three litres of IPA (Isopropyl alcohol) to make more French polish, and it has the additional advantage of being hand sanitiser, as it's 99.9% alcohol I can dilute it slightly.

Sigh. I did it.

Bought a Kiev 4A with a Jupiter 8 f/2 53 mm lens. Seller says everything works right; I'll know in a few weeks, after it makes its way from Russia.

Please report back!!
I'm going to get out this weekend and give it a try. Going to play with it using my Hermagis Eidoscope (that lens is the reason I bought this stuff- I need something slow enough that I can time exposures with a lens cap/darkslide/etc).

3 boxes of Fuji 810 X-Ray film.

5 boxes of 4x5 Kodak film.

2 x T-Max 100 25 sheet
2 x T-Max 400 25 sheet
1 x Technical Pan 25 sheet

Bought as a lot off good old eBay.

Oh and a Godox V1 flash for my DSLR, Best value flash I have ever bought, HSS and FEC in TTL, completely idiot proof (that's me) and kills the Profoto A1 at 20% of the price.

How will you use the clay?
I was going to brush cyanotype chemistry on the tiles until I learned from the manufacturer that
the clay would not do well being rinsed . sadly I don't have a kiln
I rolled clay into a pair of 8"(?) tubes and put a meniscus lens on one end in a barrel and stick a crumpled ball of photo paper in there ( it doesn't get wet so it's OK  )
Freshly mixed and brown?
yeah its not looking good ! <attached photo of it when I added the brown powder to water >

any experience with dektol that looks like milk chocolate ?
I've attempted to contact the person I purchased from to learn of his experiences
with brown dektol but my attempts have not been successful. sadly I bought a bunch of it...

Just got 3x0.5 liter of Adox Fixer concentrate. Now I am all set up for printing my huge backlog, it looks like we will all stay at home more than we want, because of the situation in the world. When one cannot go out and shoot, one can go in the basement and print. Always look on the bright side of life .

Six rolls of Adox CMS II 20, and a bottle of adotech developer (that should develop six rolls)
More Xtol
Some new graduated cylinders, negative sleeves, binders, and other miscellaneous boring but necessary stuff.

Ordered an accessory shoe viewfinder for my Kiev 4M (I called it a 4A above, but the meter version is a 4M). Partly in anticipation of adding lenses, partly in (now dispelled) concern I wouldn't be able to see the full frame through the viewfinder with my glasses. Only cost a couple bucks more than the camera did... :whistling:

5 rolls of Bergger Pancro400 and more developer (both Rodinal and Ilford Ilfotec DD-X)
