I just ordered a Hasselblad B-60 Polarizer. I do not know how I lived without it? How could I not notice?

A very modest purchase: the SQA anti-twist plate for the Stroboframe Auto Quick Release system. The SQA plate looks like it will be the right dimensions for my Rolleiflex TLR.

Visited Kenmore Camera today and picked up a very early MD-2/MB-1 drive to send to Sover Wong, as well as a roll of Ektar 100 to feed the F2AS with.

Received a Nikon f2 from Japan at a very good price. However, has a DP-1 meter that gives correct readings (agrees with my Weston ranger9, Gossen and Sekonic meters) but when meter is turned on after being turned off, the indicator needle always moves to the far right (-) position and aperture must be turned so that indicator moves to extreme left (+) before being adjusted for correct reading. Is this normal?

I bid a BIN and it was accepted. I never got a shipped notice. Then today I noticed that it sold for $20 more than my accepted bid. "blattworld1" is unethical. I filed a complaint and then ordered from someone else.

No. Assuming you performed the Nikon Aperture Ring Twist Ritual after mounting the lens and the maximum aperture is displayed in the DP-1's window, then metering should be straightforward.

I suspect the ring resistor is erratic in your DP-1 -- but at least it works for now.

Yes, blattworld has terrible feedback on eBay.

I got that 25cm Fujinar f/4.5 in a Shanel 5B-S shutter from B.S. Kumar! Now comes the terrible wait while the package does half a round trip around the globe!

Theo, thanks for the reply. In old days had a Nikon f with photomic meter, which eventually died from the same fault that killed them all. Didn't like meter anyway because camera weight was unbalanced and used plain finder. As for my do-1 meter your suspicion sounds reasonable, so will It overhauled when I get my de-1 prism finder. By the way, any recommendations for repair service for meter head?

After a healthcare appt that i was psyched for was cancelled at very annoyingly short notice today, I cheered myself up by finding Newhall's "History of Photography" in the local Oxfam shop and buying it for £2.99. Which nearly completes my library of the major histories. Though I'd still like the Mary Warner Marien "Social History" too, when I can find a cheap late edition.

And I bought a lottery ticket, which, after I win a few mill with it, means I can buy a slew of very expensive cameras, which will then mean I am a very good photographer indeed.

Don't forget to dedicate some of this money to organize a meeting with us, fellow APUGgers, so you have us drooling all over your new and expensive equipment. Of course, I would expect you to pay for lodging and food for us.
